In case somebody knows how, I'd love to remove the animation when switching between different desktops ("Spaces" in macOS).

macOS would become 10x a better operating system overnight if it had a way to disable animations. I'm Linux-pilled about this: shortcuts + speed is better than gestures + animations.

Understanding the shortcomings of large language models (LLMs) requires understanding the shortcomings of the underlying evaluation metrics. Evaluating Large Language Models III: After covering perplexity and BLEU. Let's now discuss ROUGE. 1/8

Evaluating Large Language Models II: Today, we are covering BLEU. It's used in almost all large language models capable of translation, including popular tools such as OpenAI's Whisper and GPT-3. 1/9

Two years ago I fell down the AI rabbit hole. Since then, I tried to get (and stay) up to speed in AI — consuming all relevant papers, podcasts, blogs, etc... I could find. Today, I'm sharing a first pass of my reading list. Hopefully it's helpful! docs.google.com/document/d/1bE…

The way Python deals with variables is different from some other languages. You may even have heard some say they're not technically variables Let's visualise what's happening when you create a name in Python and assign data to it with The Box and Label analogy /1

You should always work on improving your model evaluation skills. Model evaluation is the worst taught skill in machine learning, and I believe the best way of improving is through practice. But, this paper from @rasbt is by far my favorite single written resource:

The best ensemble isn’t between multiple models. It’s the ensemble of two brilliant data scientists.

I've shared tons of free and inexpensive material for learning machine learning. Combined, their value is easily greater than a $145,092 machine learning degree. Here are the best ones:

@GiftOjeabulu_ Great list! I also highly recommend the Lex Fridman Podcast @lexfridman. He used to be a CS professor at MIT, specializing in AI and ML. He brings in a lot of guests that are leaders in AI, and also guests outside of that field.
