🚨 FIA president Ben Sulayem has confirmed F1 will return to V8 engines "It's coming, oh yes, it is coming. At the end of the day, it’s a matter of time. In 2031, the FIA will have the power to do it, without any votes from the power unit manufacturers." "You will hear about it very soon. It will not be something like now, which is a 46-54 split. There will be very minimal [electric] power." "I'm targeting 2030. One year before the maturity [of the regulations]. it will happen. But let's say the manufacturers don't [vote for it], then one more year and it will be done. It's not a matter of, 'Do I need their support?' No, it will be done. V8 is coming." So, KPC is now a private company. It's whole infrastructure of tanks, pipelines and pumping stations. All that infrastructure built by Kenyans over decades but sold at a price similar to SHA system.
THE BIG QUESTION: Will KPC be legally mandated to sell to other private depots to avoid monopolistic tendencies that will hurt the country in future? Eg. In NRB, KPC never loads trucks. Instead, they release products to nearby depots from where distribution to all marketers happens.
If KPC decides to construct loading gantries in NRB and distribute directly to any buyer? It'll kill the depots belonging to major oil companies in NRB. The first step of being a monopoly.
In Eldoret, Kisumu and Nakuru, everybody loads at KPC.
In Nanyuki, product is transported via railway line to a private depot.
In Mombasa, major oil companies have depots. KPC doesn't have a depot in Mombasa.
This is an industry that had KPC, as a public company, stopping the madness of monopolistic tendencies. Now, even KPC is private. Watch carefully. We made a big mistake selling KPC.
