Assalam u Alaikum, Saad was presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court today. He is in good spirits and when I told him about the massive social media support and voices raised for him, he was deeply humbled. The CTD and prosecution had nothing further to present, and he has now been sent on judicial remand. Saad had no issues with his legs before, but at the time of his court appearance, he was limping and experiencing severe pain in his foot, which raises suspicion of torture by CTD officials. There were also visible injury marks on Saad’s left arm. This is no longer just about Saad. It is about institutional overreach, abuse of power, and corruption. We will pursue this bogus and fraudulent case to its logical conclusion. Saad’s ordeal must become a source of hope for everyone who has faced abuse at the hands of the system. Saad, our family, and I are deeply grateful for all the support and encouragement. The fight will continue. #ReleaseSaad
These are dangerous times for working journalists in Pakistan.Over 50 have been arrested under PECA & some on very flimsy charges,while the state censors,nasty trolls use abusive language if you don’t tow their line,while media workers struggle financially.Dark times but celebrating #WorldPress day because we achieved what little freedom we have with a lot of sacrifice & pain.

@AyeshaA_Q LOL. Pretty rich of you to talk about institutional overreach and abuse of power when your guy has been the biggest cheerleader of the same when that was happening in a more harsh and naked manner to PTI workers. Keep your sermons to yourself, and sit back.
ایسے معاملات میں عوامی رائے چاہے جس کے حق میں بھی ہو اُس کی کوئی حیثیت نہیں اگر عوامی رائے اسلامی تعلیمات کے برعکس ہے۔ کس کی بات صحیح ہے اور کس کی غلط اس کا پیمانہ اسلام ہے، صرف اسلام اور آئین پاکستان کے تحت اسلام کی بنیاد پر ہی ریاست و حکومت کو فیصلے کرنے چاہیے۔
سعد ریاض کو عدالت نے جوڈیشل ریمانڈ پر جیل بھجوا دیا۔ سی ٹی ڈی کے مطابق تفتیش مکمل ہو چکی ہے۔ پنجاب پولیس سے ضرور دریافت کرنا چاہیے کہ جب سعد ریاض بریلوی مسلک کی مسجد میں القاعدہ کی تبلیغ جیسا انوکھا کام کر رہے تھے اور انہیں گرفتار کیا گیا تو لٹن روڈ کے علاقے میں لاہور سیف سٹی کے درجنوں کیمروں میں سی ٹی ڈی کے عظیم کارنامے کا کوئی ثبوت بھی تو موجود ہو گا؟ امید ہے سی ٹی ڈی نے ہیلی کاپٹروں کے ذریعے ائیر آپریشن نہیں کیا ہو گا۔

After abducting @hafizsaadriaz, State alleges he is a member of Al Qaeda carrying a "membership card" & recruiting people. I've known Saad for more than 8 yrs & can confidently say the State is lying. His only crime is dissent which for a weak judiciary is a non bailable offence.
