Looking for help to fact check my ZkTLS understanding: ZkTLS lets you prove you have €10K in your bank account for a DeFi loan without revealing your full financial details! It is a protocol that integrates ZKPs with the TLS encryption system, enabling secure transmission and verification of data without revealing sensitive information. Before HTTPS, there was no secure credit card data transmission online. HTTPS (HTTP over TLS) added security but created plausible deniability, because both the bank and user have the same encryption key, making it unclear who actually sent any given message. ZkTLS eliminates the deniability problem through various approaches: MPC models split keys cryptographically, TEE models use trusted hardware, and proxy models rely on trusted intermediaries. All preserve privacy through ZKPs. Blockchain is needed in the MPC model to solve the economics of zkTLS, creating corrupt-resistant & always available notaries. A network of distributed notaries that reach consensus is used. EigenLayer can bootstrap the notary network instantly with Ethereum's massive security budget, rather than building security from scratch. The ZK magic: zkTLS uses interactive zero-knowledge proofs (unlike non-interactive SNARKs/STARKs) where the client and notary interact during real-time verification. Interactive proofs are more flexible for real-time, variable-content TLS sessions where you can't predetermine the data structure. This enables selective disclosure, where you can prove specific facts about the data (like "balance > €10K") without letting the notary see your sensitive information.
