When the average home price has increased over 4x since 1985, but median wages for 80% of the private sector has only increased by 8%, you got a problem.

Older generations say “we all struggled.” Yes. But not like this. You didn’t graduate into debt + no job security. You didn’t compete with global labor + AI. You didn’t pay modern rent on entry-level pay. This isn’t the same struggle. It’s a different game entirely.

Very lucky to be where I am now and that I’m just good at talking to people. 80% of jobs that pay an actual living wage (meet COL) require a Bachelor’s degree.

Yes, however we didn’t have the fanciest clothes (thrifted), didn’t go out to eat or coffee- ever, went to movies 6 times a year, didn’t play video games, didn’t gamble, drank cheap beer in bars, had roommates, didn’t do Botox, fake nails, tanning, expensive gym memberships, no vacations except close to home and didn’t have cell phones and then when we did had the old but perfectly fine model, same with tvs and cars.
