Indeed! To conflate a Rasgulla with an Idli is not just a culinary error; it is a profound cosmological misunderstanding. To begin with, the comparison is practically a biological impossibility. She is comparing chhena (the delicate, squeaky, pristine curd of milk) with a meticulously fermented batter of parboiled rice and black gram (urad dal). Their compositions are from entirely different kingdoms. One is an airy, spongy lattice designed to trap light sugar syrup; the other is a dense, wholesome, steamed matrix of complex carbohydrates and proteins. Their taste, consistency, structural integrity, and existential purpose share absolutely nothing in common. But more important, her attempt to dismiss the Idli as merely a blank canvas for sugar syrup does a grave disservice to what is arguably one of the greatest engineering marvels of the culinary world. The Idli is not a mere "bland cake." It is a masterclass in biotechnology. To achieve the perfect Idli is to balance the delicate microflora of wild fermentation over a cold night, resulting in a steamed cloud that is a triumph of gut health, lightness, and nutritional balance. It is a savoury monolith of South Indian culinary genius, perfectly engineered to absorb the sharp tang of a well-spiced sambar or the fiery depth of a molaga-podi (gunpowder) paste infused with cold-pressed sesame oil or nutritious melted ghee. To suggest an Idli would even consent to being drowned in sugar syrup is to fundamentally misunderstand its dignity. If this lady finds Rasgullas overrated, argue that on the merits of their sponginess or sweetness. But please, leave the noble, perfectly fermented, steamed majesty of the Idli out of your dessert-table polemics, ma'am!

As if poverty porn of 75 years was not enough, we now have weeping tree cutting anti-development porn, which chooses to ignore a quiet fact most Mumbai tree-felling (and India wide) debates ignore: India's forest and tree cover rose from 22% of geographical area in the mid-2000s to over 25% in 2023 (ISFR 2023).

@monikahalan @claudeai It's actually better. Sensex is a price index which ignores dividends. Using the TRI index produces an outcome which delivered 50% more wealth. And of course, I used Claude. I love her so much. LOL!

A blatant overreach that mocks the very principles of justice - this is exactly what Emergency looks like, except that this time round the unelected have declared it. On this, one of the darkest of days in the history of Indian Judiciary, I stand with Michel Danino. Always will.

A 1 crore earning techie's life has no value in Bengaluru. And if you're not earning that much? Your life has even less. My sister and her friend were driving home in my car. They stopped at a red light - the logical thing anyone does. A drunk driver in a mini-truck didn't feel the need to stop. He slammed into them instead. I know he was drunk. She knows it. The highway police knows it. The truck owner knows it. No arrest was made. The truck driver never showed up at the station. The owner never showed up. Nobody cared. My sister and her friend - both injured, both terrified - kept going back to the station, back to the accident site, explaining what happened over and over, just trying to get a report filed. I was in the US. All I could do was talk to them on calls, helpless. Here's what the police told them: "If nobody died, an FIR doesn't make sense." "Just claim first party insurance." "Third party insurance doesn't pay much anyway." And then, quietly, one officer pulled them aside and told the truth: "These truck mafia bribe us. Nothing will happen." Nothing happened. The truck was KA04 AE6550. The police themselves said if they'd been on a two-wheeler, both would be dead. We had 100% insurance from Reliance. Claim rejected. Reason? "Misrepresentation of facts." These two, even while injured, kept showing up to represent the facts. Reliance still found a way to deny them. The law says if someone hits you from behind, the person behind is at fault. It was a red light. How does a truck driver not see that? Trust me, this isn't about money. I'll manage the repairs and the medical bills. I have savings. And I have a decent credit score; I'll take a personal loan if I have to. That's not the point. The point is this: my sister is afraid now. Afraid that anything can happen to her at any moment and there's no one - no system, no law, no institution - that will protect her. But how do I tell her the world is supposed to be fair? How do I tell her to trust the system? How do I explain that the drunk driver walks free, the truck owner was never questioned, and the police pocketed their bribe and closed the file? I can't say to any official, "What if this was your daughter? Your sister?" Because their daughters travel in cars with security escorts. They will never know what it feels like to be ordinary and unprotected. So I'm saying it to you, an ordinary reader. You're on the road. You stop at a red light. A drunk driver in a truck rear-ends your car. Your loved one is inside, terrified. And then you learn: there is no recourse. None. The truck owner pays off the cops. The insurance company rejects your claim. The system shrugs. This is Bengaluru in 2025. This is India in 2025. This is what your life is worth here. One more thing. The friend in the car? He's one of the smartest people I know. close to top 100 rank in IIT-JEE. AI engineer and one of the biggest data companies. At 23, he is valuable to be paid more annually than the cost of five such trucks, that too, in India. He's patriotic. He pays his taxes. He stays in India even though he constantly gets offers to move to the US. This is the confidence our system gives to someone who is clearly an asset to this country. All this unfairness - for a drunk truck driver. @blrcitytraffic @BlrCityPolice - tell me. I've always avoided raising fingers publicly. But what else can I do?

Starting 2026 with a BANG! 💥 As they say in our heartland: "Re mittar, eb toh katti dhuuma uthega!" 🌪️ My heart is full today as I announce that the powerhouse of acting, the true son of the soil, @RandeepHooda, has come on board as the Brand Ambassador for @STAGEdotin 🤝🎬 For years, we have been relentlessly working to upgrade the canvas of regional cinema. We dreamt of a time when regional content would stand tall with global dignity. Today, I can proudly say that the Golden Era - the Amrit Kaal of regional cinema is finally here. We built this revolution brick by brick. And now, to add his immense strength to this movement, Randeep has joined our mission. Looking back, 2025 was a year of deep realisations and deeper value delivery. We unlocked new growth levers, but our biggest victory was cracking the highest watch retention in our history. We have a Retention Playbook in place that allows us to command engagement numbers competing with global giants like Netflix. We didn't just build an app; we built a habit. And this milestone isn't ours alone. We’re grateful to artists & creators for trusting us with their art. STAGE team, for their relentless passion that built this retention machine. Grateful to our investors for believing in the power of Bharat & backing a vision that many thought was "too niche". Today, it feels surreal that two icons - @Neeraj_chopra1 and @RandeepHooda - who represent the best of India for the world - chose to back STAGE - different fields, one clear goal: Entertainment for India’s regional cultures. 🎬

Every year the 27th of October marks the darkest day in the history of Kashmir. It was on this day, seventy-eight years ago, that the Indian Occupation Forces landed in Srinagar and annexed it - a tragic chapter in human history that continues to this day. Ever since that fateful day, India continues to deny the Kashmiri people their inalienable right to self-determination, as enshrined in numerous resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. For nearly eight decades, the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have endured enormous hardship and oppression. We salute their indomitable spirit, courage, and resilience, in the face of fear and persecution. Their unwavering resolve to attain the just and inalienable right to self-determination, remains undiminished. Since August 5, 2019, India has further intensified its illegal and unilateral actions, aimed at altering the demography and political status of IIOJK. In addition to human rights abuses, massive curbs have been imposed on freedom of movement and expression. By imposing such draconian laws, India has unleashed a systematic campaign of violence and brutality to silence the legitimate political voices and crush the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The unlawful and unjustified incarceration of several prominent Kashmiri leaders and activists, as well as media personalities, is an ugly manifestation of this Indian extremist agenda. Their continued imprisonment, under fabricated charges, is in blatant violation of international human rights norms. Pakistan has consistently condemned these unlawful measures, that defy international law and violate numerous relevant UN resolutions. We have steadfastly maintained our position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, which remains clear, consistent, and principled. Lasting peace and stability in South Asia will remain elusive without the just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people. I wish to assure the Kashmiri people, that they are not alone in their struggle, rather, the 240 million people of Pakistan stand resolutely beside their Kashmiri brothers and sisters. We will never relent in our commitment to the Kashmir cause, until justice is done and the promise of self-determination, pledged by the international community, is finally fulfilled. Inshallah, that day is not far!

Big news! We’ve raised $12.5M in Series B funding, led by @GoodwaterCap & @BlumeVentures — including $2.5m worth secondaries for some angel investors! BUT, this isn’t about money. It is a validation that India’s regional cultures deserve to shine. It is about envisioning a world where everyone is proud of their cultural identity. with 1 app 3 cultures 20 mn users 4.4 mn+ paying households & 180 cr in ARR How did we get here? Everyone deserves a parents home. A home, where the doors are always open, where you can lay wherever you want to, wearing whatever you want to. A home, where you can always be a bit of a brat, a home that spoils you. You can keep your feet on the Living room table, drag a blanket to the drawing room to watch television. You know that the refrigerator always has some food that was made for you, just in case you come home hungry from a dinner. A kitchen that you know well and a kitchen where you can make any noise at any hour of the night and no one will mind. Even if they wake up, they will not be annoyed but will ask you if you need anything to be made. You can decide to do nothing for a couple of days and no one minds. Everyone deserves a parents home at every age...

I am yet to find anything written about money that expresses the epiphany I had some years ago. Money is electricity, not coal. It’s power is in the flow. If you try and hoard it, it degrades. It has to be kept moving. And then the mindset shifts from asking how do I acquire it to asking how do I step into this flow of trillions and trillions of dollars changing hands every day? This then makes it much easier to also spend money - when you see yourself as an ephemeral steward of it as it passes through you. There are few who feel joy when they pay others but this shift has changed everything about how I have set up my business. I want to pay people and increase the flow rather than sequester as much of it for myself and dam the flow as a result. Lastly, money is energy. Large quantities of it will not get you peace and relaxation any more than a hundred barrels of gasoline in your house will. This is why you don’t want to hoard it.
