Cancer care was moved to the European Gaza Hospital. Then that hospital was forced to shut down due to sustained Israeli attacks. Other hospitals with cancer care capacity were also forced to shut down. The Al-Ahli Arab Hospital was forced to close on April 13, 2025. The Al-Rantisi Paediatric Hospital was shut down due to direct attacks on September 2025. The Al-Shifa Hospital, with a dedicated oncology department was destroyed in 2024. The Palestinian Medical Relief Society was reduced to rubble by an Israeli strike on September 23, 2025. Gazans have been unable to rebuild their oncology capacity because Israel does not allow cement, steel, and advanced medical technology needed for cancer wards. Furthermore, the lack of heavy machinery to clear millions of tons of rubble, combined with severe fuel shortages make it impossible to rebuild. Evacuate cancer patients now.
