Yes, there is a problem with intellectual diversity on the left. There’s a constant competition to see who can virtue signal the most, which minimizes conflict by pushing people to validate each others’ perspectives. The right has a different problem. It’s allowed fascists, anti-semites, religious fundamentalists, racists, and sexists mainstream acceptance. What you might call “intellectual diversity” is really just the normalization of a bunch of dangerous ideologies. We are not the same. So pick your poison. Or don’t. I, for one, reject the false dichotomy between the right and left-wing echo chambers.

@RykerJackson97 The fact that I didn’t serve a mission is enough to disprove this hypothesis.

Ask a communist why they hate capitalism, and they'll give you a myriad of reasons. Ask a capitalist why they hate communism, and they'll describe capitalism.

It doesn't matter how much education you have if you never do anything with it. The United States is dynamic because people believe that they can be successful through hard work, and because people want to come here from around the world to pursue their dreams.
Aaron Bergman 🔍@AaronBergman18

I do find it weird that somehow the US keeps winning despite a much stronger culture of intense education + broadly higher IQ distribution in China And yet somehow the golden goose is always born here (OpenAI -> Anthropic this time around)

@AaronBergman18 To the extent that you're right, it's because America has a uniquely strong culture of dynamism and competition.

Yes, production will grow and reuse will become common. Then pads will be the limit. Then fuel production will be the limit. Then regulators will be!
Ian Jacobson@iancjacobson

@Graham_117 I think the Starship flight rate is going to be limited a lot more by the number of available flight vehicles than by the number of available pads.

@leolonsuma @Birdyword That's how it works in America, but the distinction between the "main city" and "suburbs" is completely arbitrary in most cases. In China, the cities encompass the entire metropolitan area.

@iancjacobson @Birdyword That’s not true retard the city is the city and “suburb” is literally a different city in the MAIN city’s afore too named region. Your logic Lancaster/Anaheim = LA. No. America has NO infrastructure besides a road that’s why there’s extremely low density just stop 😭😂😭😂😂😂

@Bruhhloom @Birdyword Yeah the way we do it here seems suboptimal. In China, the cities encompass the entire metropolitan area, including rural areas. Just look at Chongqing.

@iancjacobson @Birdyword It’s kinda crazy. Over 50% of the country lives in the metropolitan area of a city but not the city itself.

@iancjacobson @Birdyword You even get weirder things with certain "enclaves" within the city not counted because their technically another municipality.

@iancjacobson @carsenlcooper @KariLisonbee I am of the opinion that if 40% of utah is blue, they should get 40% of federal representation. Its really hard to convince people (gop) of that though when we look around the nation and see just how bad it is across the board.

The general election outcome is basically predetermined at this point, since Utah is so overwhelmingly Republican. So if the primaries are where the real election is happening, why shouldn't a Democratic voter register as a Republican and vote in the Republican primaries? In a liberal democracy, we believe that everyone's voice should count equally. Also like I said, I would prefer a world where the state Democratic Party was more conservative and could compete in a more conservative political environment. But that's unlikely to happen, so Republicans can't get mad when Democrats follow through on the structural incentive for Democrats to vote as Republicans.
