So many enterprises are exhausted by AI demos, pilots and enthusiasm. They have no evidence it's doing its job and delivering value. So at #AppianWorld @iansthomas caught up with @Appian's Sanat Joshi to discuss measurable impact, barriers, and solutions bit.ly/42d2NM0

A decade ago, @Salesforce developed its own developer community - the ‘Trailblazers’. But at its recent TDX conference, those Trailblazers - architects, developers and admins - were anxious about how AI will change their roles. @iansthomas was there for us bit.ly/499NYgM

What happens when agents take over finding, evaluating, and purchasing products on our behalf? @iansthomas's recent conversation with the co-CEOs of marketing automation company @klaviyo suggests that much of what we know as ‘shopping’ may simply disappear bit.ly/4vLomAL

"Stop saying autonomy - before things really get out of control!" @iansthomas tells us why describing AI as autonomous could mean you're making a very dangerous leap of faith that doesn't reflect the reality of how AI agency actually works: bit.ly/3OeObZb

The rise of AI-powered vibe coding is tempting enterprise teams to custom-build apps rather than buy packaged solutions. @iansthomas shares the story of how @franklincovey long ago made the same choice using the low-code @make_hq app builder: bit.ly/4sxAQtF

A conversation with Thomas Scott, CEO of @wrike, raises important questions about AI governance and why leaders need to understand the trade-offs involved when handing off work to agents. @iansthomas shares their discussion: bit.ly/47nfNkO

@HuwDavies1998 It's a tragic inditctment of the level of political literacy in Wales that the most salient issue for the Senedd election is an issue the Senedd cannot even address.

New polling from More in Common suggest that just a third of Welsh voters think devolution has been a good thing for Wales. Immigration tops as the most important issue ahead of Senedd election in May.

@Joe___Allen This is interesting as it feels different from my lived experience and perception of the Welsh economy; where are these dynamic companies desperate for high calibre graduates according to the report? Finding an undergrad year in industry placement seems challenging, for example.

Unlike some UK areas, Wales produces too few graduates. And too many don't hang around: "27% of Welsh graduates worked outside their original country of permanent address." My unpopular view is that fixing the latter point means investing in Cardiff & letting it grow properly.

Is AI a magic box that will solve all your business challenges with the wave of a wand? Of course not, but it often prompts customers to put in the effort to complete long-overdue automation, as Fabian Q. Veit, CEO of low-code vendor Make told @iansthomas: bit.ly/4rUITRh

Enterprise AI usually automates predictable tasks. But @wrike is tackling the messy middle: using AI to connect your ideas to plans and then to action. Does this smarter approach offer a more meaningful role for human work ? @iansthomas talked to its CPO. bit.ly/3LZSvK9

Workato
Workato@Workato·
The next phase of enterprise AI isn’t about speed, it’s about structure. As @iansthomas at @diginomica writes, Workato’s Enterprise MCP shifts MCP from "integration plumbing to a platform for reusable and trusted capabilities.” It’s a shift that reflects where enterprise AI is heading--away from hype and toward governance, repeatability, and real impact. That’s exactly what Enterprise MCP was built to deliver. It provides the security, explainability, and resilience enterprises need to establish context and trust, and builds on that foundation with enterprise skills--reusable, reliable workflows that give AI the accuracy to act with confidence and accountability. The outcome? AI that’s not just fast or intelligent, but trusted, measurable, and ready for real business results. Ian takes a closer look at this evolution and the vision from @vijaytella.
