I'm thrilled to have been elected by the voters in St. Boniface and Windsor Park! I'm looking forward to getting to work on the @louis_riel_sd @LRSDschoolboard! I will work hard to ensure that our school division is inclusive and resourced to set our children up for success!

BREAKING: Removing bike -lanes from busy city streets will increase traffic congestion, according to a government document leaked amid a furious row over urban infrastructure. The findings undercut claims the dedicated routes contribute to urban gridlock. theguardian.com/world/2024/nov…

What does it take to move 1000 people? Better infrastructure supporting mobility choices that don’t take up so much space (or produce so much emissions/pollution, cost so much public money, etc). Graphic via @SeattleSubway based on a Sydney graphic I spread around years ago.

Bike lanes keep people safe, move people efficiently, make our city more accessible to more people, and reduce our emissions. If Premier Ford really wanted to reduce gridlock, he’d add bike lanes and help fund transit operations. William van Geest, Ecology Ottawa) #ottbike

It is a really jarring moment to be a historian. To know what might be coming is alarming. To realize that no one around you sees it or acknowledges it is a weird place to be in. Its like time traveling without time traveling. 1/8

Amazing, simple urbanism all over Mexico City. I will never understand why LA can’t do this.

Minneapolis built 76 miles of bike lanes, and the biking increases looked like this: ⬆️ 69% on protected bike lanes ⬆️ 26% on on-street bike lanes ⬆️ 10% on streets without bike lanes

@aphorism_monkey bikelane fad does not make more people want to cycle. it has nothing to do with creating a cycling culture, it just enriches consultants.

Bike lane plans were studied for years. Then pilot lanes were installed, and studied for years. When the designs were made permanent, they were refined further. These are not "poorly installed lanes". It's propaganda from *poorly installed politicians* lying their asses off.
Prabmeet Sarkaria@PrabSarkaria

Poorly installed bike lanes have only worsened Toronto’s record-breaking gridlock, making us the worst city for traffic in North America. It’s time to take action - that’s why we are removing Bloor, University and Yonge Street bike lanes. #traffic #gridlock #bikelanes #toronto #ontario
