@JustinTrudeau Trump has permanently harmed the relationship between Canada and USA. His apparent willingness to annex Canada, possibility with military force, will never be forgotten. Trump is a permanent stain on American history. @realDonaldTrump

I just had a good call with President Trump. Canada is implementing our $1.3 billion border plan — reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel, enhanced coordination with our American partners, and increased resources to stop the flow of fentanyl. Nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border.
In addition, Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar, we will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada- U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering. I have also signed a new intelligence directive on organized crime and fentanyl and we will be backing it with $200 million.
Proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days while we work together.

@airallele @CambridgeCalm 100% evening metre of 30km/h road will be a fight. One worth fighting.

Be sure to tune in to the Winnipeg Executive Policy Committee meeting tomorrow and hear an absurd number of delegates speaking in support of 30km/h on Wellington, including me.

@Spothe The medical system still uses mail heavily to reach patients as we continue to wait for a centralized digital medical records system.

@beauhajavitch @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg This is the start of a big change for Winnipeg for community safety and livability. I will quote our Deputy Mayor Lukes "This is a no-brainer". It is obvious to anyone who looks at the data, anything less than this motion is negligence.
English

@beauhajavitch @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg It will happen. When it happens it will show that this city is finally giving the city back the residents of the neighborhoods they live in. Students have a right to safety on their routes to school. Cyclists should have safe routes from home to work.
English

Thank you to all at the PW meeting today. I'm thrilled with the outcome. Thank you @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg (and others) for the motion to extend 30km/h from River all the way to Academy. Thank you to the delegates. @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg #wpgpoli

@mcoach69a @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg To me the ideal solution would be to hire a bike infrastructure expert who has been involved in successful infrastructure projects elsewhere. I'm not sure Winnipeg will do that though.
English

@fennelltim @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg Personally not a fan of bike Winnipeg I think they can ask for suggestions from them but also from area cyclists as they probably know the area better
English

@mcoach69a @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg I hear you, and agree. Hopefully they involve Bike Winnipeg in the planning process.
English

@fennelltim @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg That’s good but I don’t have a lot of confidence in public works to make the proper infrastructure changes. We are living the screw up on McGregor St and IMO the transit new plan
English

@mcoach69a @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg For Wellington it is only a temporary measure. The measure also includes planning for infrastructure changes.
English

@fennelltim @JaniceLukes @MarkusAChambers @DeviSharmaWpg @safespeedswpg @BikeWinnipeg Personally I’m not sure the 30 km is the answer but it is a start will have to get out that way to cycle in the spring and see for myself
English

@SherriLRollins Thank you for your motion at the PW committee meeting this morning. As a resident of River Heights I appreciate the need for calming along the entire length of Wellington Cres. I felt it was important to clarify what the original motion had been. Thanks Again.
English

@TGCTS Not anti-car, roadway safety advocates. Most of the people advocating for safer roadways also own and drive cars. We see what happens on the roadway, I'm sure you do too. If I observed a safe transportation network, I wouldn't be advocating for change.
English

“More often than not”
Now you see how they really think.
The anti-car lobby in this city is a divisive force.

@TGCTS @TtheD53 I wasn't addressing drivers. I was addressing the Public Work Committee. Unfortunately more often than not, drivers fail to take their responsibilities seriously. One error driving a car can literally destroy lives in an instant.
English

@fennelltim @TtheD53 Try making that argument at the front end and suggest all your cohorts do the same. Then get behind proper pedestrian and cyclist education and enforcement. All we hear now is DRIvErS KiLL
English

No context provided to the collisions. In how many cases were they caused in whole or in part by the pedestrians’ conduct or choices? Blaming drivers as a default is not legitimate.

English

@TGCTS Agreed . Cyclists/ pedestrians are not without blame . Many cyclists do not follow road rules and many pedestrians just walk out into traffic giving drivers no chance .
English

@fennelltim @TGCTS Lol the data is clear: there are fewer deadly collisions with pedestrians whose parents teach them to look both ways before crossing the street too😬

@jorgsbj @Cmdr_Hadfield @NASAHubble @NASAWebb They are not the same. Webb captures a different part of the spectrum shifted toward red than Hubble. This allows Webb to see through some of the haze that obscures the Hubble images.
English

@Cmdr_Hadfield @NASAHubble @NASAWebb These are just digitally colored differently so they are the same.

How @NASAHubble (lower) and @NASAWebb (upper) see the spiral galaxy NGC 2090 - got a preference?
