My happiest day each month is the day I pay my staff salaries. And even happier is the day I increase their salaries. And guess what? I look for the slightest excuse to do so. They have free meals at work. Free milk. They have the freedom to run their side hustles and I support and finance them. I offer scholarships to those who are ready to further their education. My ultimate dream? To build houses or buy blocks of flats and allocate them to my staff. God has bettered my life. It is my duty to better theirs.

Boss: “We’ll also give you a 95% raise—just don’t leave!” Employee: “Sorry, it’s too late now.” Lesson for Leaders: Employees don’t leave only because of money—they leave when they feel undervalued or unappreciated. Retaining good employees isn’t just about increasing their pay; it requires recognition, growth opportunities, and proactive leadership. Take care of your best employees— before they decide to leave you.

I hate to break it to you. But you will fail. No matter how well you plan. You will fail. There is no escape from it. You can strategize like Pep. You can plan like Michael Scofield. But you will still fail. The only question is whether you get back up.

@tosinolaseinde I prostrate to greet my Friend's elderly nanny. I call my housekeeper "aunty" even though I'm her employer. Elderly people have seen a lot in their white hair that should be respected, even if they're not as privileged as us. And THAT is the philosophy of Yoruba culture.

My understanding is that Opay leads in daily transaction counts due to its large retail customer base, while Moniepoint leads in value based on its large business customer base. So it's a value vs volume leadership dynamic.
Sir J (J9)@SirJarus

Has Moniepoint overtaken Opay in usage/customer base? I see more Moniepoint than Opay anytime I request for account to pay, especially for businesses and POS centers. I see Opay more for individual non-business users.

Reminds me of a boy they brought to me to learn graphics and video editing one time from Oshogbo. When he arrived, he brought a brand new laptop so I told him to bring it out and power it on, he said “I don’t know how to power it on” in Yoruba, I was like “and you want to learn graphic design?”, that showed that he wasn’t familiar with a computer at all, I took it from him and power it, launched pre installed MSWord and told him to type, he said “I don’t know how to” 😂😂😂 I asked him if he typed on his phone, WhatsApp, social media etc, he said he doesn’t know how and he has no smartphone, Walai ori mi koko gbona wa 😂😂, where will I start from? I got really annoyed and just left him there, then called the person that brought him, he begged me that he would maybe ask him not to come the following day. For whatever reason, I looked at him and felt what he would do when he leaves, so I brought him closer, taught him how to power on the laptop, showed him few things on typing and introduction to few things on coreldraw. Guess what, this bot arrived the following morning with about 10 pages typed document on MSWord, few text and colours on coreldraw, I was completely blown away, it dawned me that the boy is brilliant but not just exposed to brilliant people to tutor him, he only needed a nudge from a brilliant mind. I didn’t only teach him Groahic design but video editing, cinematography and printing, there is little to what I can do that Sodiq can’t do today, I left projects in his care and he handled perfectly. He left @InvigorateVis about 5 years ago and went back to Oshogbo, he messaged me this year and I saw that he’s now a fashion designer, I queried him and he said that’s where his passion lies, he sews fantastic natives, yes he sent me one and I was wowed. People just need the right opportunity.

In case you are going through some stuff and challenging times, know that on this day, 11th of April, 2006, I was one month away from my 36th birthday. I lost my job and it was my first child’s naming ceremony (remember I posted her birthday last week Saturday). The company was owing me about two salaries at the time. Everything looked hopeless. While the ceremony was going on, there was no form of entertainment for our guests. My brother-in-law noticed and called me to the corner and gave me ₦15,000. That money was my rescue. His name is Emmanuel Michael. I will forever be grateful to him. On the anniversary of today, I usually send him a huge sum. His account will make gbam!!! boom!!! and he will call me, and I would remind him 😊. Your situation will not always be the same. Time is a healer. Keep working, keep showing up, keep learning, give if you can and at God’s own time, He will make everything beautiful. Good morning and welcome to this beautiful weekend. In 2021, I wanted to move from Savannah Energy, a British independent energy company, where I was the Tax Manager, to Shell, an IOC, as Tax Manager for their Gas Operations. My interviewer at the final stage, a senior industry colleague well-known to me through our industry tax managers meetings, was a Man U fan. I am an Arsenal fan. He had Man U jersey on in the virtual interview he was conducting from his home office and I started the interview with a light joke. "You are a Man U fan. I am an Arsenal fan. I think anyone that supports Arsenal should get extra point for loyalty and perseverance. We have not won the league in many years and we are still supporting." He laughed and said he accepted Arsenal fans are a lesson in perseverance. Interview proper started. Technical questions about gas and taxation and all that. I didn't get the job. A senior manager in KPMG got it. Later that year, in a BA flight from London to Lagos, I saw him in the business class cabin while I walked to my economy cabin, I quickly stopped by to tell him I wanted to talk to him when we landed in Lagos. We landed and I asked why Shell didn't give me the job. His response: "You did well, but the person that got the job had more nuances in his answers. You were focusing too much on PIA (which was just passed at the time) while he spoke on broader issues even outside PIA. My boss in Hague that listened to the recording of the interview preferred him" We rode home from the airport in same car. Well, I quit 9-5 less than two years later and started entrepreneurship. He is winding down his 9-5 career too. And we are business partners today.

You fucking dickhead, Chinese vehicles in china aren't meant to be exported. The cars meant for export are done through dealerships so you can claim warranty Buying a Chinese vehicle outside the dealerships leaves you without any after sales support incase of issues
claudeszn🗿@wiredwolfe

@Osi_Suave He doesn't need to watch it With the kind of useless statement that person made Which is one is "Chinese cars are not made to be exported, they are only made for Chinese" Na unrealistic talk be that
