You'd have to stand a very long time astride the river before a grilled trout leaps down your throat @unfoldtrips and more ✨

Reminder that it's a lot more fun to run towards something than it is to run away from something.

@Brad_InfoSec @Romy_Holland I'm only applying via referrals, 0 blind applications; so far I'm 7 for 7 on application to first conversation. But a lot of big tech still have leetcode-heavy interview loops

@Romy_Holland Honestly his time is probably better spent doing things like joining his local dev community, OWASP group, etc and networking and getting referrals instead of grinding leetcode and blind applying.

fiancé has been applying to jobs for like 2 months and it’s so grueling. nights and weekends are mostly devoted to leet code and linkedin now for him so i’m stuck watching the baby alone. it’s gonna be worth it when he gets a better job, but i’m so ready for it to be over.

@Romy_Holland My favorite part of this is that 70s prog rck was necessary to fixing process! What did he put on? Do tell! I frequently do weight lifting to "Court of the Crimson King" 😂

crashed out bc my house was a disaster and my baby is teething or something and wouldn’t let me put him down all afternoon and fiancé cheerfully was like “okay give me 60 seconds” and then he finished an email, walked downstairs, put on 70s progressive rock, and cleaned everything up in an hour. i went outside and came back to find him windexing the coffee table. you need to understand that literally all women want is a man who fixes things.

@RosieCampbell @pangramlabs I've found it trivial to get LLMs to output text that pangram marks as 100% human Maybe no one on twitter is trying to hide it so it works here?

I was pretty confident that AI detection tools would not be feasible. Kudos to @pangramlabs for proving me wrong

The web browser is a fundamentally textual platform, yet there are few books that have been adapted to it, and even fewer that do it well. I've long wanted to approach the medium with the level of craft seen in fine book printing. This is my first attempt. iching.r053.org

@krishnanrohit @yishan We can have a law that requires reactive identification as AI, but not proactive. Your AI emails don't have to include a footer disclaimer, but if someone replies and asks then the agent must be honest Or yeah some carve out for tools for personal individual use

@yishan I want an AI to respond to my emails and it would have to respond as me to do so

is there something i can put in my AGENTS .md that makes the AI stop and think "i'm manually writing some logic that looks idiotic. *surely* Effect.ts/date-fns/ramda/Tanstack Router/Shacdn has a helper method/function/hook/component for that. let me check"

@mechanical_monk For a bunch of stuff I find directives only get followed by a separate review agent. I have a code review skill that runs 4 parallel agents to check different things, and one of them is adherence to AGENTS .md, and it reliably catches this. I use it before every nontrivial commit

I have one very sore muscle in my forearm from spending the day sanding these drawers from an old jewelers bench my sister just bought. Jewelers benches have approx one million drawers if you didn’t know 👍💪

@mishaglouberman If I'm working on something pretty hard, I'm often giving the same request to different models so that I can compare output and that helps stagger it Sometimes I'll stare at the thinking output and that keeps me more involved and aware of considerations etc

@mishaglouberman I find no option but to multitask. Often I can work on multiple areas of the project at once and that keeps me in flow on that project. Sometimes I'm multitasking on some personal chore. Either way, I always have notifs on or else I'd forget to go back when the agent finishes

Working with AI tools, there are lots of moments where I find I have to wait a couple of minutes. How do folks stay in flow when encountering this? What do you do during the wait?
