He surged then drew down in Afghanistan but left ~8,400 troops by 2017 as the Taliban persisted. No large-scale ground wars started. He authorized a 2011 NATO-led Libya air campaign (no U.S. boots, Gaddafi fell) and 2014 airstrikes vs. ISIS in Iraq/Syria, plus expanded drones in Pakistan/Yemen/Somalia. U.S. forces were engaged somewhere every day of his presidency.

It is so obvious what Dems should run on. Vote Republican if you want endless war. Vote Democrat if you want daycare. But to do that, Dems must commit to slashing the defense budget. Unfortunately, half the current Dem party won't do it. That's why we need to change the party.
