Let me make it clear that I am not against Sheikh Pantami’s decision to join partisan politics. It is his right as a Nigerian citizen, just as it is our right to criticize. I am a fan of Sheikh Pantami the cleric, but not Hon. Pantami the politician. As his fan, I do not want his reputation as a religious leader to be soiled by politics. But it seems the fanatical Pantami supporters (the Pan-termites) are pushing Mallam into the ring. Well, I have done my best to caution Mallam. But as the saying goes, he who is destined to be beaten to a pulp, ignores appeals to stop fighting. Nigeria has weak institutions, gratuitous political culture, corrupt civil service and disregard for rule of law. Nigerian political space is a jungle where the powerful often wins and the weak loses. No thanks to the presidential system. In a presidential system like ours, winning a governorship or presidential election requires huge funding, with donations coming from ten-percenters, shylocks, contractors, political opportunists, ex-convicts, you name it. And once elected, repayment is expected through inflated or unexecuted contracts, policy favors, etc. The Supreme Court is the most powerful institution in Nigeria, while the president is the most powerful individual in the country. Yet despite declarations against the diversion of local government funds, the practice persists. That tells you something about structural resistance to reform by Nigerian politicians. Let’s be frank: no one can occupy public office in Nigeria and emerge entirely unblemished under thorough scrutiny. Tax defaults or delayed filings, discrepancies in Code of Conduct records, awarding contracts to companies with links to family members, questionable estacodes, inflated protocol expenses — the traps are many. No sheikh, pastor or technocrat is immune to these ‘minor’ but clear criminal offences.

Mal. Imran U. Wakili (PULLO) 👑 #iSTANDWITHELRUFAI
Oga Bash, the issue here is not about having an opinion, it is about telling the truth. When he and many northerners supported Osama back then, and later changed their stance after understanding what is terrorism during Boko Haram insurgency, that was a shift in opinion driven by exposure, growth, and new knowledge. That is understandable. But what we have here is something different. In a 2006 video, Malam clearly said he had never joined politics and that he was not the kind of Sheikh who meddles in politics. If in 2026 he says he now wants to join politics, that too is understandable. The problem is that he did not say that. He claimed he has been in politics since 2001. That is not a change of opinion, that is a direct contradiction. So the question here is, did the Sheikh lie in 2006 or is he lying now in 2026? It has to be one of the two or both but certainly there is a lie!
Bashir Ahmad, OON@BashirAhmaad

In fairness, we should not expect a person, especially someone as well educated as Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, to hold on to opinions and views formed over 20 years ago. A lot has changed within that period, society has evolved, realities have shifted and knowledge has expanded. Yet, some people still expect others to remain rigid-minded individuals, someone who insists on clinging to ideas, methods and ways of thinking from two or three decades ago and forcing them on today’s world. That is bad. If education, science and technology had not been continuously updated in line with global developments, the world would never have achieved the progress we see today, let alone human beings themselves. Growth is a product of learning, exposure and the willingness to reassess old positions. Prof. Pantami is absolutely right to change his opinions about politics and life, especially when his continuous pursuit of education and knowledge has shown him better and more informed paths than those he previously held. We should know that changing opinions and views in the face of deeper understanding is not a weakness, it is a mark of wisdom and intellectual maturity. So it is Pantami for Gombe 2027.

This is god mentality. If the reason you are helping people is for them not to be able to “criticize” or “disagree” with you then you need to check yourself. There’s a difference between disagreement/criticism and disrespect/betrayal. Helping someone does not mean they must always accept what we say publicly. In fact, our ability to accept their disagreement publicly without feeling like god makes us a better person than just “a helper”. For the specific context here, neither the person who helped nor the person who was helped have made issues out of their engagements, it’s the officio-bystanders that escalated the matter.
Big Cuz@imohumoren

If someone has helped you before they are entitled to private criticism. Don’t sacrifice friendship for a viral moment. It’s not worth it

If there were any remaining doubts that Christians in Nigeria are being targeted for their faith in Jesus Christ, this should end that debate. This isn’t about land usage, “climate change,” or any other argument the Left wants to make. This is persecution of our brothers and sisters for their faith in Christ, plain and simple. ISIS is telling Christians they have an opportunity to "spare their blood" if they convert. Our brothers and sisters will not bend the knee to anyone but our Lord and Savior though. Thankfully, @POTUS is continuing to work in cooperation with the Nigerian government to stop these Islamic radicals and defend our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Brant@BrantPhilip_

ISWAP released an image of one of the Christian villages in Adamawa State burning, alongside a statement saying that all Christians in Nigeria are legitimate targets, and they have an opportunity to "spare their blood" by converting to Islam or paying the jizyah tax to ISWAP.

Why the NORTH needs Mr. Peter Obi? As someone from Northern Nigeria, a region that bears the heaviest burden of out of school children, deep poverty, rising insecurity, and vast but underutilised agricultural potential, it is clear that the North does not need slogans or recycled promises, all we need is competence, sincerity, and measurable leadership. The North today has the highest number of out of school children in the country. This is not just an education crisis, it is a ticking security and poverty time bomb. A leader who understands that education is national security is urgently needed. Mr. Peter Obi’s consistent emphasis on investing in human capital, teachers’ welfare, school infrastructure, skills acquisition, and measurable learning outcomes offers the North a long-term solution rather than temporary handouts. Agriculture remains the North’s greatest economic strength, yet decades of neglect, poor mechanisation, insecurity, and lack of value chain investment have kept millions of farmers poor. Mr. Peter Obi’s focus on modernising agriculture, supporting smallholder farmers with access to finance, storage, processing, and markets, and linking agriculture to industry directly addresses the structural poverty in the region. Insecurity in the North is fueled by unemployment, illiteracy, and state failure. Obi’s approach combining intelligence driven security, community policing, and economic inclusion recognises that guns alone cannot solve insecurity. You cannot secure a hungry, uneducated population with force; you secure it with opportunity and justice. What makes Peter Obi particularly important for the North is not just his ideas, but his track record of prudence, accountability, and continuity. The North has suffered most from abandoned projects and policy inconsistency. Obi’s insistence on planning, data, transparency, and institutional reforms provides assurance that interventions will be sustained beyond political cycles. For Northern Nigeria to break free from poverty, violence, and underdevelopment, we need a leader who will invest in people, unlock agriculture, restore security, and manage resources responsibly. Mr. Peter Obi represents a departure from failed politics and an opportunity for the North to finally convert its population and land into prosperity. The North does not need pity. The North needs competence. And today, competence is Peter Obi. A new Nigeria is POssible.

Why is there a noticeable lack of reaction from d government and media regarding d abduction of 28 Muslim travellers in Plateau State, unlike previous abductions of Catholic school students in Niger and church worshippers in Kwara state, which sparked widespread outrage and pressure on the government? Northern Muslims too are humans that deserve equal protection from the government, remember, each and everyone will stand before Allah to account for his or her leadership. Ya Allah protect Muslims across the globe 🤲 #StopKillingMuslimsInNigeria

Islam frowns upon the killing of any soul; in fact, in Islam, it is a great sin to forcibly take someone's property, let alone kill them. In every religion and tribe, there are black sheep, and they do not represent the system. Islam is a religion of peace.

Yesterday was yet another very fruitful busy day for me. I attended 2 events in Imo State and 3 in Anambra State that reinforce the importance of values, virtues and character to national transformation. The 1st was the celebration of 50 years of priestly ordination of Rev. Fr. Godfrey Izamujo, a renowned priest whose passion for development led to the formation of Songhai Farms in Cotonou, Benin Republic. It was also the 40th Anniversary of the Songhai Farms international, the largest farm and the second biggest employer of Labour in the Benin Republic after the government. I visited his facility when I was Governor and he supported me in starting Masdevan farm in Orum, in Awka North LGA. The Church mass was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Umuawuka, Emii, in Owerri North LGA of Imo State. The 2nd event in Imo State was a condolence visit to the family of Dr Basil Nnanna Ukegbu, a foremost nationalist, educationist and First Republic parliamentarian who, at the age of 29, built the famous Owerri Grammar School, OGS and the Ngor High School in the quest for human capital development in the old eastern Nigeria. Dr Ukegbu established the first private university in Africa, the Imo Technical University, which was unfortunately proscribed by the military in the 1980s. He was a pioneer of private universities and had a vision of social and economic transformation of the black race through techno-industrial development. He is fondly remembered for his message of economic miracle through the agrarian revolution. I expressed my condolences to the widow and the bereaved family. The 3rd event is at Nnewi Anambra State, His Royal Highness Igwe Dr Kenneth Nwafor Orizu 111, CON, celebrating his 100 years and 62 years on the throne. He has lived by character and integrity and contributed immensely to a better Anambra as Chairman and Patron of the Anambra State traditional council. The 4th was the 90th Birthday celebration of Mr Boniface Anaedum, a famous teacher at the School of Rehabilitation, Oji, in Enugu State, who taught many physically challenged, blind, dumb and deaf. The 5th was the 90th Birthday celebration of my former teacher, MrAnthony Onyechi Ibeziako, at Onitsha, who was our Vice Principal and teacher at Christ the King College, Onitsha. He was a disciplinarian moulding character and generations. These 5 events reinforce my commitment that we have the resources, natural and human, to transform our economies and enhance peace and stability in our society. Truly, a new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Ibos and 4vil belters are not humans, they are more of 4nimals than humans, infact worse than 4nimals because even the 4nimals don't treat their people as such. FG need to intervene before this situation will get out of hands. Anything that happens to our Muslims will never be tolerated anymore. Cowards C4nnibals, if you want to fight Islam come out and face us and stop pick killing Muslims bcos like it or not, Islam will continue to flourish till the end of the world, you will never end Islam in Nigeria no matter the killings.

The Federal Government must urgently act to protect Igbo Muslims across the South East. Besira Ugochi’s cry from Nsukka is heartbreaking Muslims now live in fear, worried for their lives as non-Igbo Muslims continues to threaten their lives.

Stay back home and fix your disgraced country As at 1965, Nigeria was better respected than Singapore , Malaysia , Brazil, Indonesia, South Korea etc No one needed any visa then to visit the US and Canada Today, while the average Singaporeans and South Koreans are not queuing up to run to the US, the average Nigerian, is doing all manner of falsehood and falsification just to sneak into the US? What happened? WHAT CHANGED ? unscrupulous, greedy and confused folks, including you, rallied round, lied and fabricated all manner of satanic falsehood just to kick out Jonathan in 2015, and usher in the current band of bandits currently ruining Nigeria, and have turned it into the most terrorised country in Africa You guys are so shameless and consciencless that you imagine that most of us have Amnesia, and will not remember the roles you all played to usher in the bubonic plague over Nigeria in 2015 Why will Trump open the gates of US to folks, who wrecked their home and turned into into a shithole jungle to troop in and mess it up too Stay behind and fix the land Bunch of selfish men and women

| @realDonaldTrump Trump is a lying machine , a racist and a hypocrite who believes he can fool everyone, when in reality he is only fooling the foolable. How can you claim to want to save Christians in Nigeria while banning them from entering the United States? Still, Trump alone cannot be blamed; too many of our own people also do not know any better.

To Black Christians in Nigeria: In 1973, the U.S. Department of Justice sued Donald Trump, his father Fred Trump, and their company, the Trump Management Corporation. The lawsuit alleged that Trump-owned apartment buildings in New York City refused to rent to Black tenants and lied to Black applicants by claiming apartments were unavailable while offering them to white applicants. Federal investigators said Black applicants were often marked with a “C” (for “colored”) on rental applications — a practice documented in court filings. In 1975, the Trumps did not admit wrongdoing, but they agreed to a consent decree. The agreement required them to: Stop discriminating Advertise vacancies publicly Provide lists of available apartments to the NAACP and other groups Submit regular reports to the government. Trump is not coming to rescue any Black Christian in Nigeria, that's impossible. He does not even go to church, ever. He sells Bibles to others printed in China for profit, but he himself does not attend church, ever.
