This week's #UABCyto case by Dr. Emily Cobb: 70 y/o M with a 2.5x2.7cm hypoechoic mass at the pancreatic body-tail junction. FNA shows ductal cells with marked atypia and nuclear overlapping, when compared to normal diagnostic of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Closing the loop: Germinal center, normal finding. There is a polymorphous population of lymphocytes and tangible body macrophages, which characterizes a germinal center in the smear. It is extremely important to be familiar with normal elements, so you will not fall in pitfalls.
