Excited to share that I will be joining Atrium Health & Advocate Health as Division Chief of Surgical Oncology, inaugural Richard L. White Jr. Endowed Professor of Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and Surgeon-in-Chief Atrium Health Levine Cancer in Charlotte, North Carolina. I will also have the privilege to serve in the Scientific Committee of IRCAD-North America. Thankful to @BrentDMatthews , Dr. Ruben Mesa @mpdrc, Eugene Woods for their trust and support. I welcome the challenges and opportunities ahead: to build at scale, expand access to complex cancer care, and integrate surgery, innovation, technology, and research across a multistate system. @LevineCancer @AtriumHealth @advocatehealth @wakeforestmed Eternally grateful for the mentors, colleagues, and trainees who shaped this journey 🙏

I Matched! So excited to join @HMSurgery as a categorical general surgery resident next year! This would not have been possible without the support of my mentors and my fiancé. IMGs, whoever told you couldn’t do it, YES YOU CAN! #Match2026 #MedX

It is truly uplifting to see Surgery Residency Programs across the US stand up to demented times & offer IMGs fair #match2026 evaluation. Shout out to @APDSurgery for being on the right side of history. IMGs: tag these programs here, 1 at a time. They deserve to be celebrated.

#Zahle has been officially crowned the “Wine City of 2025” by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), becoming the first Lebanese city and only the 10th city worldwide to receive this prestigious title. This recognition adds to Zahle’s cultural accolades, following its designation as a #UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2013, making it the only city globally to hold both honors. Raise your glass to Zahle, Lebanon’s proud new capital of wine and creativity.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Andrew Lawson as Division Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and Clinical Service Chief of the Adult Trauma Service, effective August 1, 2025. Dr. Lawson brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to advancing trauma care. He completed his surgical residency at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) in 2017, followed by a Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Fellowship at Emory University at Grady Memorial Hospital, and a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at UT-Houston. Since rejoining MCG as faculty in 2019, he has distinguished himself as a clinical leader, educator, and innovator. Currently, Dr. Lawson serves as Director of Surgical Critical Care at Wellstar MCG, where he oversees both the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU) and the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). As Program Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, he has led significant improvements in the fellowship's curriculum, call structure, and overall training experience. His service on numerous departmental, institutional, and national committees reflects his deep dedication to both clinical excellence and academic leadership. In his new role, Dr. Lawson plans to expand the Emergency General Surgery (EGS) service and ultimately obtain certification for the EGS service from the American College of Surgeons. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Terence O’Keeffe for his outstanding leadership as Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery since 2019. His contributions have been instrumental in shaping the program’s success and growth. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Lawson on this well-earned appointment.

This abstract reports that patients with ESRD 2/2 to GPA have a higher risk of vertebral fractures compared to individuals with ESRD without GPA. Even low dose steroids (pred 5mg) taken during the first year of HD conferred an increase risk or facture! #ACR24 @RheumNow
