@SaintTzu @archon A rightful concern, from my understanding of copyright law (I know another arm chair lawyer) they can own an expression of that idea but not what makes the core of it. Nintendo has a copy right to Mario but they can’t copyright platformers

@archon What stops WotC from claiming that what they actually own is the whole concept of a TTRPG? Isn’t that fairly close to what they did to trading card games? Maybe, hopefully, I’m just being an alarmist here, but…

@ElvenTower Sometimes you have to make sacrifices. Does it suck? Absolutely I now have to explain to my players why access to materials I’ve freely shared with them is gone after February. That’s what voting with your wallet means if you have a billable sub and previously purchased stuff

I don't have D&D Beyond to cancel since I never really opted-in. Some leaks today claim that WotC cares only for DDB subscriptions so canceling is the best way to send a real message. If you can cancel DDB, it may be the best way to help the cause. #OpenDnD

While this undoubtedly confirms my suspicions, this is a demand my @DnDBeyond will be suspended from here on out. If that message doesn’t click and the OGL plans move forward @Wizards_DnD and @Hasbro will not receive my money #OpenDnD

I guess time starts now to look at a system to show my friends that isn’t using the OGL in some way. If you have a suggestion feel free to leave it down below.

In my little sphere of the world, I feel it’s worth saying that @Wizards_DnD and @Hasbro are not aware of the history of this game, if they go through with it. Should the OGL 1.0a not remain, I will sever all ties with Dungeons and Dragons #OpenDnD

What D&D doesn’t want you to know is that Fireball is just scam to sell more D6s to Wizards. Big D6 has been operating behind the scenes for years. First you rolled a stat with just 3D6 now it’s 4D6. Sneak attack is all D6s. Even short and greatswords are in on it.
