He posted a $10,000 bond. The doors opened at 12:21 in the morning. At 1:45 AM, 84 minutes later, he sh0t 2 men at the Country Club Apartments on Dunlavin Way. One de*d at the scene. One in the hospital. Investigators say surveillance video shows Simpson walking up BEHIND both men and firing twice. Why? A PARKING SPOT. The victim lived a few doors down and had parked in the spot in front of Simpson's door. That's it. That's the whole reason. In 2013, Simpson was charged with FIRST-DEGREE M*RDER for shooting Richard Bonds during a fight in an uptown parking lot. He pleaded it down to voluntary manslaughter. He served ONLY FIVE YEARS. He was out in 2020. His record and found TEN more notable arrests AFTER that release!!!! I found 9 separate sets of charges in the last 3 years alone. He has literally been charged OVER AND OVER with possession of a firearm by a felon. A man who already k*lled someone. Who is BARRED BY LAW from touching a gun. Hey @Jvnior. Got your message. The answer is no. My post was about refusing to alter my life in order to accommodate yours. There is no debate on that. Whether Christianity is better than Islam, I’m not here to debate that, either. However, there is a sect of extremism within Islam that needs to be addressed. When you have a mayor who can’t condemn the extremists, who is married to a woman who celebrated that extremism, and has stood with people who said innocent people deserved the act of terror that killed them, there’s a real problem. He also isn’t the only Islamist in government who has shown their true colors. Makes me terrified for this country. Blonde. Jew. Two days later on July 28th, the bookstore informed my literary agent that it was canceling my book launch. On July 29th, less than 24 hours after canceling the Aug. 20 event, Bell Bird Books provided statements to The Tennessean expressing support for the event, even though it had already canceled it. I was never contacted by the Tennessean for comment. On Thursday, July 30, Bell Bird Books removed the event announcement from Instagram, deleting all public mention of my book launch without issuing any public statement that the event had been canceled. Rather than informing readers and ticket holders, Bell Bird Books deleted the post. As a proud Jewish author who values free speech and who strongly believes in the power of words to change hearts and minds - and as someone who has always supported independent booksellers - I’m saddened and deeply disappointed at the state of affairs that led to my cancellation. This entire episode raises important questions about whether our society truly values the First Amendment, freedom of speech, and the ability of authors to express controversial or unpopular views without being cancelled for them. There is no crime in being proudly Jewish. There’s nothing wrong with condemning antisemitism and extremism. These topics shouldn’t be controversial - they should be openly and freely discussed. When bookstores cancel authors under pressure from activists, they are silencing speech and making a mockery of the First Amendment. You don't appear to have any issue with the Palestinians sharing videos, celebrating the massacre of Jewish babies when they were part of starting the the war on October 7, 2023. Crowds in Gaza, as well as in parts of the West Bank were sharing videos of elation for the atrocities they inflicted on the Jewish people.
