The best SF author at representing humans in space was Jack Vance. He portrayed us as quirky and weird and just as bizarre and multi-cultural as we are in life. I remember in one story, there was a carnival on another world, and one tent featured "The Mystic Earthman" because Earth was this incredible legendary world that all humans knew about.

@infocraving makes a point. We have expanded medical schools without expanding residency slots. As @YounisJoseph points out, residents are revenue generators. It is beyond time that residency slots were funded by hospitals, not @CMSGov. I think @jbcarmody would agree.

Then what is your take on Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants? A Medical School Graduate with a MD has twice the education and WAY more training than a NP or a PA at graduation. Yet, a NP or PA can be a Cardiologist on Friday and Gastroenterologist on Monday. They can even work in the ER or ICU. Someone make this make sense. They both bill your Health Insurance 85% a Doctors fee if seen Unsupervized. #Hospital #scam #CORRUPTION

The purpose of both though is not to function and generate revenue at the trainee level. The purpose is to become an attending (master) and generate even *more* revenue.
