4/ What did the +1 achieve in the #UNSC? African positions were taken seriously: pen-holders had to contend with the #A3Plus1 position or its proposals were unlikely to succeed. In every situation in Africa before the UNSC, we drove an independent & often effective position

2/ it brought life the AU's 6th region & demonstrated Pan-Africanism at the highest level. Reconnecting Africa with its diaspora is a historic task. The last time we did it we overthrew colonial empire. It is key to the protection of our liberty, security, dignity & prosperity

I am going to sorely miss Amb. Rhonda King, PR of @SVG_UN, in the #UNSC. And I think the Council is the poorer for the ending of SVG's term. Their principled alignment with the African position, as articulated by the @_AfricanUnion, will be remembered as a great historic act:
