In partnership with @KCCAUG and @cdfupdf , Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has launched a 7-day citywide sanitisation drive across Kampala’s five divisions. Code-named Operation Dark Matters, the campaign is tackling sanitation challenges in densely populated communities by deploying cesspool trucks to provide free emptying of septic tanks and pit latrines, reducing public health risks and restoring dignity to residents. This initiative reinforces the vital link between sanitation, public health, and wealth creation, working towards a cleaner, safer, and more productive Kampala for all. @mkainerugaba

Under PDM, the Luwero region has seen large allocations: by May 2025, Greater Luwero’s three districts (Luwero, Nakaseke, and Nakasongola) had received UGX 61.716 billion distributed to 240 SACCOs.

The OWC retreat kicked off today with Brigadier General Godfrey Muwanguzi, the Deputy Chief Coordinator of OWC, delivering a presentation on “The Past, Present, and Future of OWC.” He traced the institution’s journey since inception, reflecting on the 2004 Defence White Paper, which emphasized non-military threats to national security such as poverty, unemployment, and food insecurity; issues that continue to shape OWC’s mandate.
