As a lawyer representing enterprise customers in this space, I think you are dead wrong on this one Gov. The US approach to Privacy Law is a State-law issues, and it's a compliance nightmare. Have 50 different State laws governing AI would be likewise. There should be one Fed law. Now, reasonable minds can differ about what what those regulations should be, but give businesses a break - Just one legal framework please.

Stripping states of jurisdiction to regulate AI is a subsidy to Big Tech and will prevent states from protecting against online censorship of political speech, predatory applications that target children, violations of intellectual property rights and data center intrusions on power/water resources. The rise of AI is the most significant economic and cultural shift occurring at the moment; denying the people the ability to channel these technologies in a productive way via self-government constitutes federal government overreach and lets technology companies run wild. Not acceptable.

FBI agents, along with ICE-ERO officers arrested a Mexican national, who is alleged to have gang raped a child in Puebla, Mexico. During the arrest, he was found carrying a counterfeit social security card, a lawful permanent resident card, and a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

@FBIDDBongino One would have to be pretty thick in the skull to think a fake name/photo could allow them to hide from the FBI. But with all of the swatting/doxing...it may be useless but maybe not.

Another update for you on your FBI’s Operation Summer Heat and our work to crush violent crime. The FBI and our partners have arrested 220 violent offenders just this week, bringing our total to over 5,700 since the operation began in June. We’re seeing real results against violent offenders- and we’re not slowing down.   Great work on an @FBIDetroit investigation with coordination from @FBIJacksonville, @Charlotte, @FBIHouston, @FBITampa and @FBIStLouis to disrupt a large labor trafficking ring. Two Self-Professed Religious Leaders, who are accused of using physical and psychological abuse to coerce victims to solicit tens of millions in donations, were federally charged and arrested this week. This investigation will no doubt save many victims from further abuse.   In @FBISanAntonio, a man was arrested for making threats against a member of the federal government and their family. We will not stand for people making these kinds of dangerous calls and instilling fear in people. Those who think they can hide need to know we will find you.   @FBITampa worked with our HSI partners to get a suspect into custody who assaulted an ERO and HSI agent then took off running. Thankfully, the agents will recover from their injuries.   An @FBIAnchorage investigation led to the arrest of a man and woman for conspiring to maintain a drug-involved premise at a hotel in Anchorage. It’s alleged the suspects used the hotel to store and distribute drugs, directed people looking to buy drugs to their dealers living on the premise and controlled who was allowed to visit the hotel.   Those are just a few of the highlights---we continue to remove dangerous drugs from the streets. @FBIWFO and our partners did 20 searches and made several arrests this week into an alleged D.C.-based drug trafficking organization that sold PCP and fentanyl. We also seized several firearms including one AR-Style rifle, a shotgun, and one Draco-style pistol.   Through this initiative, the FBI and our partners have disrupted 290 networks, seized a combined 24,900 kilos of fentanyl and cocaine, and have continued to keep communities safe.   That’s YOUR FBI at its finest. When someone entrusted with enforcing the law is accused of breaking it for personal gain, it undermines the public’s trust in every honest officer who wears the badge. The FBI will pursue corruption at every level, because no one is above the law.

During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening.  The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponization of both law enforcement and intelligence operations. It is a priority for us. But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned.  We are going to conduct these righteous and proper investigations by the book and in accordance with the law. We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE. As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth. UPDATE- @TheCalGuard 79th IBCT has deployed approximately 300 soldiers to 3 separate locations in the greater Los Angeles area. They are conducting safety and protection of federal property & personnel.
