@Wattenberger I agree with the broader points. Implement is rarely just implement and where we spend our time is shifting. However, what happens when you switch from this linear view to a loop? Yes we should plan (and think!) more, but aren’t we now having more frequent and faster loops?

i'm joining @a16zcrypto to shape their social strategy. crypto is the most interesting technology being built today, but most of the world still just doesn't get it. telling that story well requires long-term thinking from long-term believers, and a16z is the place to do it. couldn't be more ready for this one.

everyone just keeps building the same thing: 2024: deep research and “operator” (browser clickers) 2025: actual browsers and prompt-to-app 2026: some version of openclaw there’s a lot of alpha in original product thinking while big labs (and many startups too) are all busy building identical products

The best people I've met aren't strategy people or execution people. They're both. So when the cost of building something approaches 0, they go faster, but they're also more generative (and strategic and playful). They aren't just building derivatives of the same thing.

The best founders pick who they want @_CommonMagic works to be chosen. Principles of building; 1: focus on the founder + all else follows 2: trust wins you the right to be honest 3: small, fast, focused can beat big, slow + general 4: the secret ingredient is fun

I'm too right wing for the left and I'm too left wing for the right. I'm too into humanities for those in tech and I'm too into tech for those in the humanities. What I'm learning is that failing to polarize is itself quite polarizing.
