Does anyone have the Tin Can phone for their kids? This is plutonium catnip for me so I will order it unless I can be convinced it's somehow bad.

you guys aren’t going to believe this but once upon a time this *entire site* was only people seeing people they followed. it was great. they cut down the forest and now we’re celebrating a potted plant in the lobby

Loved this interview with @Wattenberger - Step back and find your own POV instead of chasing someone else's narrative - Play (and sculpt!) with the actual material - Think bigger. We're barely scratching the surface. Thanks to @Flomerboy and friends for this series.

My dad is a scientist, so I grew up with research papers on the kitchen table and lots of visits to the lab. Working on Claude Science has been a full circle moment :')

So happy to share Claude Science with the world! One of the main ways AI can benefit the world is by accelerating rigorous scientific research, and Claude Science is our tool for doing it! Some bts of the design decisions that went into it...
Claude@claudeai

Introducing Claude Science, a new app designed with every stage of research in mind. Artifacts traced to their code, environments managed on demand, and 60+ optional scientific databases that you can connect. Available now in beta.

This is VERY cool. I know these nonprofits will benefit from the fellows. But even more than that, I hope the fellows come away inspired and see the world a little differently after learning about the orgs doing the hard, critical, often overlooked work in our communities.
Anthropic@AnthropicAI

We’re launching Claude Corps, a national fellowship program matching people early in their careers with US nonprofits. We'll teach 1,000 people to use Claude, and pay them to use AI to advance their hosts’ missions. anthropic.com/claude-corps

One more I forgot until just reminded: 3. Khosla Ventures wanted to invest in our Series C. Vinod took me, Michelle, and Lee out to dinner after he’d given us a term sheet. Near the end, Michelle and Lee got up to use the restroom. Vinod leaned over and said: “I’m impressed with you, not so much with them, what if you fire them and I’ll give you all their stock?” I think the charitable read was it was a test of my character. But I was so offended that we never spoke again. Literally blocked his number.

Having the right language to describe what you want - in animation or beyond - is critical to going from “anyone could do this” to something special. Curious to see how long this edge will last.
Emil Kowalski@emilkowalski

To get good animations from an AI you need to get good at telling it what you want: - "stagger this list of items" - "make this animation direction-aware" - "spacial consistency", "crossfade", "layout animation", I made a motion vocabulary for this: animations.dev/vocabulary

Once you build your internet stack on @obsessedapp it scans everything and gives you a brief of what's important. Obviously, I had to add a shader animation.
