Samantha, a 31-year-old married police officer, and her husband adopted a homeless boy. When the boy was 14, Samantha and her husband began sexually abusing him. The boy, now 21, filed a police report, and Samantha and her husband were arrested. Samantha faces four charges, including rape of a minor and violence, while her husband faces more than 20 charges, including assault. ALERT: Jury broke down in tears today while footage of Tanner Horner killing 7-year-old Athena Strand was played. They were also shown footage of Horner telling his boss that he had “thrown up” in the truck, requesting the same vehicle the next day. The footage of the abduction reportedly showed Horner dropping off a package, a Barbie Christmas gift. Horner allegedly picked up Athena and placed her in the back of the FedEx truck and closed the door. He is then seen whispering something to her as she is moved from the back of the truck to the front. Athena then asks, “Are you a kidnapper?” Horner told her to sit down and not scream, or he would hurt her. Seeing this caused some of her family members to leave the courtroom. Horner then covered the camera so only audio could be heard. After trying to make conversation about how old Athena was, where she goes to school, Horner says, “You're really pretty. You know that?” Horner then asked Athena to take off her shirt. She said “No” and asked for her mom. Athena was then heard crying, screaming, and loud banging was coming from the back of the truck, according to local reports. Athena's parents, Jacob Strand and Maitlyn Gandy, have both testified in the trial, but they did not sit in the courtroom while the video was played. After cleaning the back of the truck with some kind of spray and a roll of paper towels, Horner was heard on the phone, claiming he had eaten bad food and gotten sick, and requesting the same FedEx truck the next day.

NEW: New Jersey high school chemistry teacher arrested and charged for s*xual assault against a student at Sterling High School. 26-year-old Jason D. Howe also coached boys and girls cross country, freshman boys basketball, and was an assistant coach for girls' track. According to local police, the girl who was allegedly assaulted was at least 16 years old but less than 18. "During the investigation, detectives determined Howe and the victim engaged in s*xual intercourse at his apartment," the prosecutor’s office said. Howe was taken into custody. He was charged with second-degree s*xual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. He faces 10 years in prison.

NEW: FedEx driver who is accused of abducting and strangling a seven-year-old girl, puts his face in his hand as a photo is displayed of him driving her to her death. 7-year-old Athena Strand was seen standing behind Tanner Horner in his FedEx truck. Athena was allegedly snatched by Horner when he was delivering a Barbie doll to her home in Paradise, Texas. Horner initially claimed that he accidentally hit the girl with the truck before "panicking" and pulling her into the vehicle. He said he then strangled her in the vehicle and dumped the body 7 miles from the home. The photo, however, shows that Athena was alert in the truck and did not appear to have been struck by the truck. Wise County District Attorney James Stainton says the jury will see footage on the day of the killing, depicting the moment Athena was strangled to death. "Somebody covered up the camera because they don't want you to see. Guess what? Audio is still running, and you're going to hear it. You're going to hear what a 250-pound man can do to a 67-pound child," he said. "And when I say it's horrible, I mean it. I've been doing this for 25 years, and I promise you, buckle up." Horner qualifies for the death penalty.
