🚨OMB sent a memo to federal agencies this evening, requiring all federal loans and grants be paused by 5pm tomorrow. Financial assistance is defined to include all federal grants/loans except those that provide direct assistance to individuals.

The city of LA is still sweeping unhoused people in the middle of this unprecedented crisis. Instead of bringing folks on the streets inside, the city is destroying what little they have & threatening them with arrest.

December 2024: 3,098 people experienced hmlsns in Nashville. NRM served 1,666 unique people (our shelters are FULL y’all). 790 ppl were entered or re-entered into HMIS. 132 people were housed.

People who say you get more conservative as you get older are just projecting their own personal shittiness onto everyone else. I get more radicalized by the year. It's not even about older people having more wealth to protect; I'm making more than ever before and I still want to obliterate capitalism. You get more conservative and right wing as you get older if you fail to grow as you age. It just means you've been wasting your time on this planet and allowing yourself to become intellectually lazy and morally stagnant.

Idk what people think happens when you report an encampment, but they don't get any help. They get beat by police. They get fined and their tents, food, blankets, IDs, ashes of their loved ones, medicines, etc. thrown away. They get more traumatized + desperate than before.

@ipungarcher The doc has been out for a few months. This is a scripted movie with actors. They have two movies, art, books, music, and all kinds of stuff, including a giveback of profits to nonprofit organizations that promote the film.

Marbut’s narrative film is set to hit theaters on February 28th next year, the documentary is already released. For those unfamiliar, Marbut is known for designing shelter programs with a prison-like approach and served as Trump’s homelessness czar—a role he might reprise. This film notably ignores housing as a solution to homelessness.
