The anger isn't over her competing for a geopolitical rival. I don't think that registers for most people. The anger is over the sense that she sees the US as an economic zone/purely instrumental. Also she's hot, so we care more.

@deanwball Haven't spent much time with codex but the GUI is at least responsive. The Claude desktop app is so much less responsive than their web app it's ridiculous.

This is true of the Claude app as well. All other aspects of my machine function normally; Claude Code is a resource hog but not machine-stoppingly so. there is something wrong with these GUI apps and it seems not insane to wonder if the vibe-coding helps explain it.
