"Whenever you go, every meeting you attend make sure you are recognized. Stand up and say something. Don't just walk out. Say something. Let the people in that room ask themselves: who is that person who has been speaking? That is a lawyer."
Hon. Dr. Sam Mayanja, Attorney General of the Republic of Uganda speaking @JSConversations @elisonk

@_JMAlex @R_Nabbanja @NUP_Ug @ObothOboth @jessica_alupo @Parliament_Ug @FredShaka @AaronKaviiri @BruceMugis @job_matua But is everyone in NRM this comical? I like Ms. Nabbanja btw 😀
English

Yes, he's out of order. Thank you, Rt Hon Prime Minister @R_Nabbanja, for handling @NUP_Ug's LOP Bisekezi amicably 😄 🤣 😂. | @ObothOboth @jessica_alupo @Parliament_Ug

@rsnokes What's the point of studying that Prof? I am just a curious friend

Why am I in Uganda, and how can you get involved? #fulbright #allwaysreal #alwaystroy #uganda #medieval
English

@JSConversations I think marks and legal acumen are hardly the same. I believe the best lawyers are not necessarily the ones that topped their classes.
Ps. I love the fact that you went all in on excellence.

"When we sat down to found what became KAA Advocates, we made one decision: we shall emphasize only quality. We shall not go anywhere chasing work. We shall just sit here, produce quality work, and our reputation will give us work. And indeed it did. We got Centenary Bank when it was on the verge of collapse. We handled it, blew it back to life. We got Tropical Bank. We designed the Condominium Law. We were the top taxpayer for service companies for several years.
We had a dream to attract the best young people. These days we don't even advertise. We go to the law centre, ask who got the highest marks, and say okay, you can have a place at KAA. If you don't go through KAA now, you have not consulted in Uganda."

@LAlionzi Well done. You can't keep a teacher unpaid. Let's get serious for a second!
English

After 11 months, the teachers and non-teaching staff of Aliba SS in Arua City have finally been paid in full by the City.
This afternoon, together with the Assistant RCC Mr. Job Richard Matua and technical staff, we engaged with the staff who had gone 11 months without pay. Upon swearing in, I directed the technical team to resolve the matter within a week, and I am pleased that by Monday, the issue had been fully addressed.
On behalf of the local government, I apologized to the staff for the delay and thanked them for their patience, resilience, and commitment to duty despite the challenges.
I also commend our technical team for working tirelessly to ensure this matter was resolved.

@OdekeHerbert2 @nbstv @EdgarMKaruhanga @Faith000001 And how many trees have we put in soil today?
True advocacy is getting the trees and giving them to people.
Policing those who cut them and filing lawsuits against those doing mass cutting.
Signing referenda to get the parliament moving
English

@issekisambu @nbstv @EdgarMKaruhanga @Faith000001 Good. Let’s plant trees but ofcourse the action taken by @Faith000001 has gotten you and I talking trees. Clearly she has created awareness to us. Time to leave diplomacy and do something about our environment. What advocacy would work for Africa though? Just curious!
English

Ugandan conservationist Patricia Faith Ariokot has taken that message of protecting nature to extraordinary lengths, spending 100 hours walking around a single tree in a campaign aimed at highlighting the vital role trees play in sustaining life.

English

@OdekeHerbert2 @nbstv @EdgarMKaruhanga @Faith000001 Then let's just plant trees. That act is not awareness please. I wonder who is telling Africans wrong advocacy that gets no results
English

@issekisambu @nbstv @EdgarMKaruhanga How many trees have you planted in your life? @Faith000001 is not doing this for the sake of awards. But to challenge you and I to plant trees. Would you rather plant a tree now or wait 10 years to develop policies. Let us be serious @issekisambu

@DAMIADENUGA It's an issue of how much fat or eggs were used. The Nigerian bread is soft because it has more liquid / fat / eggs.
English

@DailyMonitor @ANMakubuya Yes let’s forget everything that the British did… “it’s the reason why we have portholes and corruption in the country” 😄
English

The High Court has ordered Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to rename city roads bearing the names of British colonial officials. What other symbols of colonialism do you think Uganda should reconsider, beyond street names?

@LarryMadowo I believe there is a reasonable cause for this. The US is a sovereign state and can decide who enters and who doesn’t enter their territory. If diplomacy has failed , then there is no other option for him.

@StartHubAfrica Do you partner with schools? I have a TVET that I would like to introduce you to. They will benefit greatly from your service especially that most of the students are in small manufacturing, car works, woodworks and IT.

Everyone talks about innovation in Kampala.
But some of the most impactful innovations I have seen are being built in Gulu villages with almost no resources.
A young man building a groundnut crusher to help farmers prepare for the rains reminded me that innovation is not about fancy technology.
It is about solving real problems.
Northern Uganda is building. 🇺🇬

@TonyNatif The name of God must never be used in vain or to justify evil doing
English

Madam Minister Designate,
I think congratulations on your new position are in order.
I also think that if indeed it is God who chose you and has imposed you upon the country, it is highly likely that this God is punishing the country for something.
Atugambe twe’neenye instead of sending such pestilences in the name of “leaders”.
First he sent us Ebola, next he sent Nameere.
What will be next? Floods to wipe us all out?
Let this God that you speak of just tell us the wrong we did to deserve leaders like you and we shall repent.
Congratulations again. ✌🏾
Justine Nameere Nsubuga@JustineNameere
U think the Appointing Authority and the Vetting committee reason like u who reasons with yo nnugu?! They are aware u hoover around like monitoring demons insulting people then when we give a much bitter taste of yo own medicine u become motivational speakers claiming we are imperfect and yo angels! ebyo ebtekisilu byo bigambe nyoko meehhnn! Stop demeaning yo country and stop disrespecting Leaders! Leadership comes from God, there is a reason u who is "self proclaimed perfect" is not a leader😂
