We have launched Adult Content and Violent Content policies to bring more clarity of our Rules and transparency into enforcement of these areas. These policies replace our former Sensitive Media and Violent Speech policies - but what we enforce against hasn’t changed. Adult Content covers our approach to sharing consensual sexual content and adult nudity. Violent Content covers violent speech and violent media to allow for a more holistic approach to combating violence in all forms. We want our policies to be as clear, helpful, and transparent as possible, so you can quickly read them and understand the X Rules. To achieve this, we’ve begun the process of updating and consolidating a number of pages on our Help Center and rolling out a new, simplified template. In the coming weeks, we expect to reduce the overall number of articles and total word count significantly. To further enhance brand safety protections, last month X rolled out a fundamental change to our approach to search and ad placement. Historically, we took an exclusion approach to prevent advertising showing against certain terms, which was not comprehensive enough for our customers. Now, eligible brand-safe and commercially relevant search terms are included in an allowlist and advertising is only shown alongside those terms or terms that advertisers are bidding on.

All X users have the ability to control whether their public posts can be used to train Grok, the AI search assistant. This option is in addition to your existing controls over whether your interactions, inputs, and results related to Grok can be utilized. This setting is available on the web platform and will soon be rolled out on mobile. This privacy option is available under the same Privacy settings accessible to every X user, making it easily accessible with just a few clicks.
