Between August 2024 and July 2025, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency attended to 8,692 cases, and is currently averaging 400 cases per month. Guess where it’s happening? Your estate. Your place of worship. Maybe your street. Abuse thrives in silence. 0-8000-333-333 SGBV - It Concerns Us All!!!

The reason this fucking rapist posted evidence of him being a rapist thinking it exonerates him is that his victim appeared to be friendly with him afterward. He thinks this completely absolves him of guilt. In reality, she was likely still processing what happened or dealing with denial. I need every one of you niggas gone.

Prior to our legal system which has now been involved in this case, taking its course on this particular matter, for the sake of everyone who has ever believed in me or have stood with me in the past or presently;

Many chocolate manufacturers are reducing or eliminating real cocoa and cocoa butter to cut costs. They are using cheaper vegetable oils and artificial fats instead to create "compound" chocolate products that often contain more sugar and fillers.  This is where Nigerian and Ghanaian chocolate manufacturers get it right - using real cocoa beans and cocoa butter. I just need them to create varieties with little or no added sugar. I am rooting for West Africa’s chocolate industry. I am excited about the shift from solely exporting raw cocoa beans to producing finished, bean-to-bar chocolate.

INVESTIGATION: Repackaged expired products dominate Nigeria's N34trn food market Food items meant to be sold in sealed packs are now being scooped from buckets and sacks in many Lagos markets. A BusinessDay investigation found that some of these products originate from expired, near-expiry, or rejected factory stocks, stripped of their labels and resold cheaply to consumers. This billion-naira underground trade continues to thrive across Nigerian markets, raising concerns about food safety and public health. Full report: businessday.ng/investigation/…

Toluwase, a 500-level student at Covenant University, collapsed during a football training session. He was rushed to the clinic, but instead of receiving oxygen or a nebulizer, he was prayed for. He didn't survive. This is not the first time a tragedy like this has happened on campus.

This home in Dakar 🇸🇳 was built with raw earth bricks and no AC. Its circular form is inspired by traditional Senegalese homes, with a courtyard and trees at the centre. The house is oriented north-south to capture natural light and prevailing winds. Small openings in the roof allow hot air to escape. The building is raised by 450mm to reduce the risk of flooding. The walls are made from locally produced earth bricks, pressed by hand and sealed for durability. The floors use a traditional broken tile technique, finished with linseed oil for protection and brightness. Glass walls are triple-glazed to insulate the interiors from heat. They open fully for airflow and close when protection is needed. From the windows to the gutters and furniture, everything was made locally. Nothing was imported. This is what happens when design respects where it is built. Local materials are not backward. They work. 📍 Dakar, Senegal Architect: Cyrus Ardalan Photography: Alice Mesguich

This man had 4 minutes to live. No one was in the room. He survived because he knew something 95% of the world doesn’t. Choking kills over 365,000 people globally every year, according to the WHO. 95% of these choking episodes share one variable: the person was alone. Not because the obstruction was worse. Because no one was there to help, and the victim didn’t know how to help themselves. Without oxygen, brain damage begins in as little as 4 to 6 minutes. Average ambulance response time globally? Eight minutes or more. In many countries, they don’t arrive at all. The math is unforgiving. You either know what to do in the first 60 seconds, or you don’t survive long enough for help to arrive. This man survived for one reason, he’s a medical worker. He knew the self-Heimlich exists. He knew to use the back of a chair to generate subdiaphragmatic thrust against his own epigastrium. That’s not his instinct. It’s training. Now think about who doesn’t have that training. Elderly people eating alone. Toddlers. Anyone living by themselves who has never been shown that a chair, a countertop, or even your own fist can substitute for another person’s hands. The Heimlich maneuver was invented in 1974. Fifty years later, most people on Earth still don’t know it exists, let alone that you can perform it on yourself. 112K+ people watched this video. Almost none of them would have thought of actually learning the technique. They watched a man almost die and just felt relieved. Here’s what the video should have taught you: In case you’re alone and choking: Step 1: Make a fist. Place the thumb side just below your rib cage, above your navel. Step 2: Grasp it with your other hand. Thrust sharply inward and upward. Step 3: If that doesn’t work, lean over any firm surface. A chair back. A countertop edge. A railing Step 4: Drive your upper abdomen against it. Hard. Repeat until the airway clears. That’s 15 seconds of knowledge. Don’t forget that. Save this post.

A medical worker in Türkiye saved his own life after choking while eating alone. With no one around to help, Ilyas Yildir used a chair to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre on himself, dislodging food stuck in his throat

We should think more critically about opinions like this because they are backed by colonialist ideology and anti blackness. To say that wigs (we know what type of wigs are being referred to) are “leveling up” from the hair texture that grows out of our scalp is not a good thing.
•Mel•🏂@DrMel_

Yes cornrows are good but they can never compare to what a good wig does to a woman, the leveling up is always top tier
