Inside the NBA, after Game 1 of the Playoffs on a Saturday night, just ran for a grand total of 26 minutes and 54 seconds. Including commercials. - Lakers/Rockets reaction - Ice Spice slap video - 3 other game highlights - Gone Fishin' Then straight to local news.

@TVSportsUpdates ABC will probably skip Inside the NBA and show it if it happens at 11pm. I could see them moving the game to ESPN so they could show it live, too.

I imagine at least CBS and NBC will come back to show this. Maybe ABC will come in with a recap of the press conference but I don’t think they would show it live during the game.

Monday and Tuesday of next week: new episodes of “The Tonight Show” will directly follow NBC’s NBA playoff coverage in ET/CT/MT markets at 1 AM ET. No postgame show, no local news break.
On the west coast, an episode of “Dateline” will take viewers to local news at 11 PM PT.

Jon also notes what NBC executive producer Sam Flood said on a media call today: the broadcast network will have a doubleheader next Monday and Tuesday night, with the third game on Peacock/NBCSN.
I had been expecting 1 NBC+2 Peacock. More accessible coverage will be great.

We should get a full schedule tomorrow or Thursday, but as of right now, both ESPN and NBC list NBA playoff games for Tuesday 4/28, which would be unusual for games to air across multiple partners on the same night.

Anybody else notice what’s going on here?
They moved Shaqtin’ from Inside the NBA to the pregame show because, I assume, they won’t have time for it later.
With Inside airing on ABC, once again, they are scheduled for only ~30 minutes, pending when the Lakers game ends. (Need to get the affiliates to local news at a decent hour.)
By doing this, the pregame show is cannibalizing the postgame since they don’t have the run-of-show time they used to on TNT.
Inside the NBA was always unique from the pregame and halftime programs because of segments like this, and I can’t say that with confidence anymore if they continue to strip it down for parts due to time constraints.

The last Inside the NBA episode until the regular season finale just ran for a *grand total* of 23 minutes (with commercials).
Because the game went long into overtime, I am going to assume the ABC affiliates wanted their network back for local news at the top of the hour.
There was that huge gap between shows at the beginning of the regular season, it's happening again at the end of it, and anytime they're on ABC: they have only a couple segments before having to sign off.
ESPN broadcasts are a bit longer, which is fine, but it will just never be the same as it was on TNT. I am a disgruntled loyal customer who gave new ownership a chance, and would like to turn in my membership card.
