@__phantomderp does rustc / llvm actually support all of the platforms the kernel supports? or is rust in the core kernel going to end up leading to ports getting dropped?

@steve_coding @MalwareTechBlog I'm not sure what your local universities look like, but we've had undergrads make incredible contributions on their work terms. It really depends on the student. We pay them of course

@MalwareTechBlog In our area the universities ask us to place students in unpaid industry placements and we are happy to oblige. We are yet to have any that are ready to do commercial work, but we donate our time to help develop the local talent pool. I guess we’re not a real company 😂

@VE7FIM @ecnepsnai you seem to be assuming that the fbi are complete idiots, when none of us in fact have any idea what is actually true. it is worth considering, given the serious response to the investigation results so far, that there may (or may not) be more to this than we know about

@ecnepsnai I also am skeptical of a lot of this; the supermicro BS for example. These spook stories are hard to judge though. Before all the documents came out, I would have laughed at anyone trying to tell me about prism

@ecnepsnai The allegation seems to be something else: that the Huawei equipment is capable of acting as a transceiver outside the normal cellular bands for purposes of espionage

@ColeSouth @mikebeckhamsm why not put your money where your mouth is? I avoid amazon at almost all costs these days, for exactly these reasons. it's generally less work to shop somewhere else than sort through the trash heap anyway

ever wonder why the cheap junk flooding Amazon has keyboard-mashing brand names like MOFFBUZW? let's dive into an example... the 2nd organic result for "baby moccasins" has: - 0 reviews - no Prime offer - 20 day shipping (lol) - a brand name that literally looks like Dog Shit

What would you do if you checked your bank account and found you had mistakenly been paid 300 times your normal salary? 😳 Well, this happened to an employee and he decided to cut and run. Intrigued? So were we 👇 trib.al/UUBW3Fc

@HarmonInst @azonenberg Digikey will definitely do special less-than-full-roll orders for you. I do wonder, though, if they order extra trays / tubes from manufacturers for splitting up full orders among different customers. Generally the tubes of TI chips I get are all in genuine TI tubes.

Starting to assemble the front side of the secure boot analyzer / SATA sniffer board! Biggest I've hand assembled. Paste print was acceptable, but definitely not the best I've done. Some of the smaller apertures had trouble because I accidentally ordered type 3 instead of 4.

Given that I have been critical of @US_Stratcom's social media presence in the past, I want to point out that during this crisis they have been completely professional and that deserves our praise.

@whiten0iz That doesn't address the question. There are a lot of problems with outside cats, but nobody is forcing them outside. Your assertion that they are "stuck outside in winter, forced to huddle together for warmth" is totally wrong.

By letting cats outside you expose them to the very real risks of being killed by predators, hit by cars, and contracting diseases from other cats. They're also an invasive species that's doing a LOT of damage to native bird populations. If they're bored inside, play with them.

@atomicthumbs @MT6572A I have complete trust in the strength of cryptographic primitives, but the only actual implementations I trust to keep my data from prying eyes are gpg

@Apple remember when they decided it would be a good idea to put glass panels in the front *and* the back? and then you couldn't make a phone call while holding it. lol

@hasherezade @PayloadPl @VessOnSecurity yeah it absolutely does not justify it. I think the problem is that shitty people are out there, and they will do shitty things. the npm model unfortunately seems to be very effective at enabling them to do those things

This is fucking irresponsible. If you have problems with business using your free code for free, don't publish free code. By sabotaging your own widely used stuff, you hurt not only big business but anyone using it. This trains people not to update, 'coz stuff might break.
