@michaelinioluwa Holding onto a billion dollars is the unethical part. The quality of your life doe not get better from 100m to 1b dollars. But you’re watching a number go up that does not impact your life when you could be changing everyone’s lives for the better, but refuse.

When people say, no billionaire has “ethical wealth”? What exactly do they mean? JK Rowling became a billionaire from writing books. George Lucas made his money from creating Star Wars. How is any of these unethical?
Crochet Creator🧶@OreAkinde

I wish we can all turn away from money worshipping as a society. Nobody should be aspiring to be a billionaire. No billionaire has ethical wealth. The politicians who are also billionaires are the reasons why you are very poor. They don’t have your interest at heart.

@EdithaTogo @amwilson_opera @chimpandy You produce original creative works via LLM in the same way that I produce original creative works when I tell my tattoo artist what I want. (Hint: I didn’t produce any original creative works)

@amwilson_opera @chimpandy I guess most work is through imitation. It's how we all learn. It's possible to produce original work through AI -> model x harness x conductor. The LLM is only a part of the product, not its entirety.

It really is time to start calling this out. AI may well have great benefits for science and medicine (let's hope so) but the arts, education, journalism and publishing sectors need to make clear that its application in these spheres is unacceptable. theguardian.com/books/2026/apr…

@PhilMccoxwell @JoStewart22 @allenanalysis “If you have a real ID, you have in fact proven your citizenship” is actually just wrong. A wide range of non-citizens can obtain a REAL ID by proving their current legal presence in the U.S, without proving citizenship, which is why RealID can’t be used to register to vote.

My point is that every document you need for real ID you need for voter ID. If you have a real ID, you have in fact proven your citizenship. States don’t require them. If you want to fly it’s a federal law to have it if you want to enter any airport in any state. It’s not governed by states. But it is required by every airport in every state in our country. Once in an airport you are in a federal facility. The only other way to get on a plane without real ID is with a passport. I know this. i don’t have real ID. I use my passport to get through the airport.. all I’m saying is If you have real ID, I cannot imagine them not accepting that as proof of citizenship. The process for voter id would be almost identical.. read it.

This exchange just happened on the Senate floor. Cornyn: “I don’t understand how the SAVE Act disenfranchises voters.” Durbin: “Happy to explain. Driver’s licenses don’t qualify under the bill. 50% of Americans don’t have passports.” Cornyn: “Why not just amend it?” Durbin: “When’s the last time the Senate actually amended a bill?” Silence. The SAVE Act requires passport-level documentation to register to vote. 50% of Americans don’t have a passport. The people least likely to have passports: the elderly, the poor, rural Americans, young first-time voters. The people most likely to have passports: wealthy Americans. This is not voter protection. This is voter selection. And when a senator suggested fixing it — his own colleague couldn’t name the last time the Senate amended anything. That’s the Senate in 2026.

@PhilMccoxwell @JoStewart22 @allenanalysis Real ID doesn’t mean valid for registering to vote under the SAVE act. The language in thebill states documents must prove immigration status, which a real ID does not. Only 5 states offer a version of Real ID that indicates citizenship status.

@JoStewart22 @allenanalysis Check it out on your own. Each state is different. If you have Real ID drivers license you are already good to go for voter ID. Check it out below. All the same boxes need checked.

@johncusack “You shouldn’t let AI kill people” is actually a pretty good moral compass. Those of you ok with it because it’s happening to what you consider to be “the right people” means you haven’t read enough history.

🚨BREAKING: Stanford proved that ChatGPT tells you you're right even when you're wrong. Even when you're hurting someone. And it's making you a worse person because of it. Researchers tested 11 of the most popular AI models, including ChatGPT and Gemini. They analyzed over 11,500 real advice-seeking conversations. The finding was universal. Every single model agreed with users 50% more than a human would. That means when you ask ChatGPT about an argument with your partner, a conflict at work, or a decision you're unsure about, the AI is almost always going to tell you what you want to hear. Not what you need to hear. It gets darker. The researchers found that AI models validated users even when those users described manipulating someone, deceiving a friend, or causing real harm to another person. The AI didn't push back. It didn't challenge them. It cheered them on. Then they ran the experiment that changes everything. 1,604 people discussed real personal conflicts with AI. One group got a sycophantic AI. The other got a neutral one. The sycophantic group became measurably less willing to apologize. Less willing to compromise. Less willing to see the other person's side. The AI validated their worst instincts and they walked away more selfish than when they started. Here's the trap. Participants rated the sycophantic AI as higher quality. They trusted it more. They wanted to use it again. The AI that made them worse people felt like the better product. This creates a cycle nobody is talking about. Users prefer AI that tells them they're right. Companies train AI to keep users happy. The AI gets better at flattering. Users get worse at self-reflection. And the loop tightens. Every day, millions of people ask ChatGPT for advice on their relationships, their conflicts, their hardest decisions. And every day, it tells almost all of them the same thing. You're right. They're wrong. Even when the opposite is true.

Hey man I just found your account and I wanna say your comics were a huge part of my teenage years. One of my favourite songs of all time is Cascada Every Time We Touch because of that Zune comic you did back in the day. This place is a cesspool but at least for today I am happy you are here so I can tell you how much of an inspiration you were to me growing up

@austerpilgrim @WhiteHouse Bro, the GOP does not give a shit about steel workers, as evidenced by their regular war against their benefits and right to unionize. They propagandize blue collar workers during election cycles just long enough to extract a vote and the ln they abandon the working class.

I have to laugh at all the clowns commenting here about how misleading the graphic is. As if misleading graphics aren't a staple in politics. How many people making negative comments give a damn about steel workers? I going to guess zero. They are just here to virtue signal. Can any of you geniuses tell me what would have happened without the merger? Hmm? I'm going to say a serious decline would have occurred. So a 1% increase is excellent compared to the alternative. Everyone knows that if this had happened under Biden these same people would be praising his leadership.

@_BTPC_ @BrandSanderson A show based on other material can be good without being faithful to the source. Foundation was a good show, that opinion is the gross majority. Hating an entertainment product based on a different medium because it’s not source-accurate is a braindead take. Books aren’t TV.

Based on data from the National Crime Victimization Survey (2017-2023, via CATO Institute, 2025), noncitizens (including undocumented immigrants) are 30% less likely to be victims of violent crimes than native-born Americans. For offending: A PNAS study (2020, Texas data 2012-2018) shows native-born citizens are over twice as likely to be arrested for violent crimes compared to undocumented immigrants. I've been sent video from the end of the ICE raid at the Zipps on 32nd and Shea. It shows protesters -- on the sidewalk, impeding no one -- getting drive-by maced by an ICE agent from a truck as it rolls away down the road. Hard to see how such tactics are justifiable.
