“Wrapper” isn’t a dirty word.
It means a product build on top of a technology.
Startups that focus on the opposite are far less durable.
I’m looking forward to seeding more simple wrappers that consumers love but overly intellectual VCs hate.
@benshapiro Why are they "enemies?" No one that works at DeepSeek is an enemy of mine. The fact that they love open-source makes me think I would gel with them quite well.
@emreloperr You're missing the point of reddit and why people use it to get answers to questions.
It's a very human platform, it's based on stories and experiences.
There's a place for LLMs, when you need facts. Most people aren't looking for facts on Reddit.
@mckaywrigley Where is the money coming from? SoftBank is broke, Oracle is up to its eyeballs in debt. Elon wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole unless he owned it… and Sam, well he’s just a grifter suckling and the dry teat of Microsoft.
This 500bln is coming from a magic money tree.
@PLBompard Good question. There’s always creativity in the process! There has to be. What works for one product/brand/whatever won’t work for another.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t learn the scaffolding.
@itwasjacob Is there some kind of creativity involved in the end? Or is it more like learning for each niche what's working and reusing the same strategies over and over?
@MaxRovensky@mattyp Love replit but this is big true. I love a primary shape logo, but you have to be okay with other people using primary shapes in similar ways 🤣
The little squares aren’t even stacked the same way 🤷♂️
Today’s my final day in Chiang Mai.
It’s the fourth place I’ve visited in 2 months (Kenya, UAE, Bangkok).
I love it here—more than I thought I would.
I extended my stay because the city is fun, the food is great, you have nature on your doorstep, and access to great facilities like gyms and classes.
Since there’s a lot of entrepreneurs, it’s a cool blend of peaceful and productive.
Would recommend it for anyone trying the digital nomad lifestyle.
Next stop:
Ko Phanang for 5 weeks. Then off to South Africa.
(This is so much more fun than slogging it out in the British winter).
@thetoddjacob You do know he was beheaded by the Ottomans? For all the fear and cruelty inflicted on his own people, he still lost. A scary loser, but still a loser.
Sun Tzu wrote "The Art of War". Dracula wrote it in blood.
Forget the vampire myths - he was far worse.
This man engineered the most horrifying military victory ever recorded.
History's darkest military genius wasn't fiction: 🧵
@arvidkahl What would you say to an acquaintance at the bar?
Make it a personal ask. From you to them.
I usually start survey emails like "Need your help with something" or "Got a minute?"
"Your opinion matters" smells corpo. Bar-copy works err' time.
When I get an email that starts with “your opinion matters”, I instantly feel like I’m just one datapoint in your survey campaign.
Yet now that I am going to send surveys myself, I’m conflicted and out of my depths.
What’s a better way to start such an email?
@ThatAlexWoman This is false, and blatant disinformation.
No retaining dams have been removed from the Júcar river. Small weirs and other obstacles no more than a few meters in height were removed.
Even that was local river authorities, not the EU. Sorry to disappoint.
🚨EU made Spain REMOVE dams
More than 200 people dead in horrific floods in Spain
They'll tell you a year's worth of rain fell
What they won't tell you is EU legislation forced Spain to rip out its dams
The EU's Biodiversity Strategy 2030 made member States remove hindrances to 'rewild' rivers
Guess who was top of the class?
Spain. 133 taken out in 2023 alone 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
