@thomasjuneau Yep. Hate that it ended that way but he tried to force a chance and it backfired.

Meu grande destaque é o Macklin Celebrini.

@BenRothenberg Thankfully you said this century - otherwise Guga Kuerten's 1997 RG kit would have liked a word ;)

@stevemagness I remember having also read about how we usually go upstairs after some sort of rest - so we are not warmed up. And it's an exercise you already do not train for.

Why is this the case? No one really knows. But a combo of: Specificity: Stairs shift the load, increase strength requirement, change muscles utilized, and alters muscle recruitment. In short, you are using stuff in ways you normally don't. Training: You are already pre-fatigued from training so much, that adding going upstairs just drains you. But really, you see the same response in track runners, mid-distance and long distance, and mountain or obstacle racers who you'd guess would be more accustomed to strength endurance. So I think it's also perception. It just "feels" harder because normally walking around is easy. So you're caught off guard a bit when going up a hill or stairs walking zaps you.

@DKThomp Is it fair to talk about 'Trump wave' when, in absolute numbers, Harris received about 15 million fewer votes than Biden in 2020? Trump himself is not likely to reach the 74 million votes he got four years ago. Democrats did not turn out hence the massive shift towards R.

County by county analysis is better than exit polls bc you’re dealing with more complete (but still imperfect! not all counties reporting) data. The takeaway here is 1. The Trump wave hit every kind of county 2. It especially hit urban counties, young counties, and heavily Hispanic/non-white counties.

@Alex_Panetta As it stands now, Democrats are on track to lose around 15 million votes compared to 2020. That’s stunning and definitely seems to speak to that rejection. Trump’s 3 million votes below his 2020 performance.

@PHealthGnome I see your point. I think those who would vote for him because of this sort of rhetoric have been won over already though.

I’m not going to defend Tony Hinchcliffe but he is what he is. It is no surprise he made that type of joke. Outrage over it will also likely fire up a big portion of the Trump base.

@bkabak My theory is that the FO will keep putting together a team that is just good enough with hopes that they luck out and end up winning it all. Absolutely sucks.

@TimDeSchriver Sure. Different strategy, but an even worst shot for gold I think. Hocker/Kerr still kick past him. And you have more guys with better 800s in the mix. Jakob's best shot was close to what he did. Only alteration would be 56.0 first lap instead of 55.0, and keep 3rd lap hotter.

Here's the splits for that 1,500m...absolutely insane... 1:51.5 through 800... Look at that last 300... 13.3, 13.3, 13.0...That's 39.6 off a HARD pace for Cole Hocker. USA 1-3-5 is nuts. Nothing Jakob could do on this one. The other guys were better today.
