This Sunday, I had the privilege of joining Chasdei Lev to help distribute food to working families and educators ahead of Passover. As New Yorkers prepare for Pesach, organizations like Chasdei Lev remind us what community care looks like in action—making sure every family can celebrate with dignity. In a city as wealthy as ours, no one should have to worry about putting food on the table for the holidays. Grateful to stand alongside those doing the work every day.

Mamdani's solution to an unprecedented rise in antisemitism is...to stop counting. After seeing a 152% spike in hate crimes, New York City police are changing how they report hate crime statistics. The NYPD has decided that they will now only include solved and confirmed cases of hate crimes in their reports and leave out the ones still being investigated in order to be more "accurate." Three hate crime experts have come out to say this method will be less accurate. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, only 44% of hate crimes are even reported in the first place. And in only 32% of those reported incidents do the police even question witnesses or suspects.

The attack on Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan is horrifying. My thoughts are with the congregation and all who are shaken by this act of antisemitic violence. I am continuing to closely monitor the situation. Out of an abundance of caution, the NYPD will continue to deploy high-visibility patrols to Jewish religious and cultural institutions across the five boroughs.
