@Real_nimrod07 @OptimoPrincipi Agreed, I did not get the sense that Odysseus felt any shame about being a warrior or going to war. Nolan’s Odysseus seems to feel bad specifically about the Trojan horse and the fact that so many of his men die as a result of that. Not perfectly faithful but still enjoyable.

@grimataka @OptimoPrincipi I liked the overall message of his adaptation especially considering what is happening in the world right now and adding depth. Is it a good retelling of the original poem? Absolutely not, it's actually quite awful in many ways. But the message is good and important

@hamlakroo I loved that choice too. It made the gods feel far more mysterious and powerful than if they were constantly walking around in human form.

One of my favourite choices in Nolan's The Odyssey 2026 is how the gods never appear in their true divine forms. Their presence is felt, not seen. Zeus speaks through thunder, Poseidon through relentles waves and unforgiving storms, the divine is always there just beyond human understanding Athena was the goddess, the priestess and odysseus guilt all at once
