The UK's Electronic Travel Authorisation does not take account of the unique circumstances on the island of Ireland. The exemption for residents is welcome, but needs to be extended to tourists. The island is marketed jointly internationally under the GFA. The battle continues...

Great to see @ClaireHanna raising issue of ETA at #PMQs. Overseas tourists account for almost 25% of total visitor spend in NI with the majority travelling across the land border. Whether coming to stay overnight, spend a day or 2 hrs every non-visa national will require an ETA

Thanks @ClaireHannah for continuing to raise ETA. Disappointing to see confusion with NI protocol. Two separate issues & must be treated as such. Hope to meet @robertjenrick in the coming weeks to find a workable solution& provide certainty to NI's tourists& tourism economy.

Good to see @StephenFarryMP noting the need for an ETA exemption for RoI residents and tourists. Any barrier hampering movement of tourists into NI would be a devastating blow to our tourism economy.
