@eldmcca @dublin_damo How does that follow? I’m lifelong left, not practicing Catholic, prob disagree with her on much BUT she was clearly the only non-establishment candidate & would have brought the debate to life. Conflating “establishment” & being a “woman of the people” is mendacious.

Mocking a woman for owning an expensive handbag seems odd to me. Whilst I don't have that kind of budget, I always buy the absolute best of everything I can afford - same approach, same mindset, just different budgets.

There is a loss of meaning in the lives of many people. This is connected to the decline in religion, which is connected to the decline of marriage and in turn to sub-replacement birth rates. Sooner or later, this will dawn on liberals.

@DavQuinn David, we don't need God, we just need bloody houses. Tech oligarchs being able to do massive social experiments with no consequence is the other big issue. Plenty of religion in America, but look how unhinged they all are.

Residents in the South are wary of both Unionists and Republicans in the North with a history of sectarianism or violence sure - but overall there is a desire to maintain the Unionist population in a United Ireland. There is advantages for the Republic that come with having a Unionist community such as maintaining hassle free travel to the UK and moderate Republicans won't want to lose those advantages, no more than Unionists would.

It’s interesting how touchy they are about this! The new Ireland mask well and truly slipped over how Heather Humphreys was treated by some in the Irish media. We can see it! Despite what they say, unionists will have no place in an all Ireland.

The murder of Charlie Kirk is an appalling act of violence whether you agreed with his point of view or not. It reminds us of one thing, the far left are no different from the far right.
