Coming from experience, I faced two layoffs last year that cut my income into a third. Luckily, I live within my means, but even I didn't save or invest as much as I should have and I work in technology.
Easy to lose track.

I understand there’s a ton of Claude fans out there. I was there too 4-5 weeks ago. Then it got way way way worse and without explanation.
What’s worse is that I would consider myself a heavy power user. What about the folks that aren’t and have no idea it was dumbed down over 60% or more since its initial release and are using this day to day.
Codex is outperforming Claude in every way right now. Additionally OpenAI is much more transparent, cheaper, and produces much better code in every way to Claude at the moment.
Claude has massive outages, lack of transparency to users, some really bad operational and security practices.
They’ve lost me. I’m done.

@petergyang bro i've been using it from day 1, and at first I was like "i'm cooked as a dev" and now I use a mix of opus and gpt 5.4 because it is that bad. it is on par with sonnet these days more than not

@j3g @mvalsmith @HackingLZ They release a lot of questionable research, PR letters, and almost none of it can be objectively confirmed or replicated or pass scientific scrutiny. Some of us are becoming skeptical. Maybe we shouldn't trust AI companies and should have independent investigations and research?

Ive been using LLMs in offensive work since ChatGPT came out. The most recent released models will find a ton of vulns & tell you about them with 100% confidence. Their explanations will be very rational, well thought out & look right. Then when you try to recreate / exploit the bug you realize they were completely full of crap. Will Mythos be different? Does Anthropic have really good exploit people looking at the output?

Honestly don't know what happened to Claude Code. Tried a one-off simple task on a fresh directory yesterday, tried a bunch of things that didn't work, asked for a ton of permissions, and then got stuck for 4 minutes before I got tired of waiting and killed the session. This was on medium effort.
Switched to Codex gpt 5.4 with medium effort and one shotted the task in under 1 minute.

@JoannaStern I use Spark and it's good for my usage, I don't know if it has the features you're looking for. I like that has a Mac client, iPhone, and android. I was looking for a multi platform solution.
