I’ve never seen a video of a man celebrating his divorce. Never seen a man set up ring light to announce his divorce and blame his wife. I’ve never seen a man talk about a ‘divorce glow-up.’ I’ve never seen a man celebrate putting his own happiness above his family. I’ve never seen a man proudly leave his marriage and family to ‘find himself.’ I rarely see men openly talk about stress related to mental load or emotional labor, especially as fathers. I’ve never seen a man leave a relationship because his partner didn’t keep him in his ‘masculine era.’ Why is it always women? Why is it always you? Why can’t you just move on silently like the man?

Herein lies the problem with capitalism: It has resulted in a handful of billionaires controlling the entire economy and making life or death decisions that impact all of us. Every decision billionaires make is based on what brings them the most money. They don’t make decisions based on what is best for the people or planet. They don’t care about the common good or the community. They only care about profit. That is why their ultimate goal is to use AI to replace as many of us as they can get away with, and anyone who thinks they’re going to provide UBI is in denial. They don’t care about us now and will care about us even less when they don’t need our labor. Humanity’s only hope is to take back the economy [the means of production and technology] from the billionaires and put it directly in the hands of the people. That is the only way to ensure decisions around AI are made to benefit all of humanity instead of a handful of rich billionaires.

The United States has the largest prison population on earth. Not per capita. Total. More people in cages than China. More than Russia. More than every "authoritarian" state it condemns in its annual human rights reports. 1.8 million people. Disproportionately Black. Disproportionately poor. Disproportionately from the zip codes with the worst schools, the fewest jobs, the most abandoned infrastructure. This is presented as a "criminal justice system." It functions as a labor system. Prison labor, paid between 13 cents and $1.15 an hour in most states, produces goods for McDonald's, Walmart, Victoria's Secret, Whole Foods, and the United States military. The 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery, contains an exception clause: "Except as punishment for crime." That exception has never been closed. It has been expanded. The plantation did not disappear. It received a different name and a legal foundation.

All of which trace back to... the greenhouse effect. Identifying the mechanism isn't the same as identifying the cause.

A new paper examined spring warming over the western Tibetan plateau and southwest Asia and found the driver was not CO2, but rather the Western Tibetan Vortex. This circulation pattern explains about two thirds of the surface temperature variability in the region. And the mechanism is familiar: When the vortex is anti-cyclonic, cloud cover drops. Less cloud means more sunlight reaching the surface, increasing temperatures. Conversely, when the vortex is cyclonic, cloud cover increases. More cloud means less sunlight reaching the ground and temperatures fall. The study found that an 11% drop in cloud cover has increased incoming solar radiation by 7 W/m2, which has raised surface air temperature by 1.87C. The study found no link to CO2. Rather, clouds, circulation and sunlight. Natural drivers.

Yes, CO2 fertilization is real. NASA said so. Here's what NASA also says: The greening effect is being wiped out by heat stress, drought, and soil nutrient depletion — the same things your beloved CO2 is driving. Nature Reviews (2023): crop yield losses of 7–23% under high emissions scenarios. Heat and drought offset the fertilization benefit entirely for staple crops feeding billions. More trees in the Sahel. Less food in the tropics where 3 billion people live. That's not a win. That's a cherry-picked headline from someone who doesn't read past the abstract.
