She said custody must have been “difficult” for him with English not being his first language and sympathised with his mental health issues. No deportation order is in place. And no minimum sentence imposed.

He was sentenced to 9 years but was told he only had to serve 6 years in prison. He is due out in mid 2027. His victim has been appealing since November 2025 for him to be deported back to Sudan.
