@anniekarni If Dems turn their back on Israel, a big percentage of Jewish voters will turn their backs on them. Throwing away a 125-year-old alliance to please the left-wing mob will have dire consequences. This will push me and lots of family members and friends out of the party. Watch.

Wow. Am hearing that as many as 150 Democrats could vote YES on the measure to cut all aid to Israel. A show vote, but still, if so, will be a real dramatic moment marking a shift in decades of American foreign policy.

AOC is communicating with dsa now+ always has been lol there are very regular meetings with her office & impromptu calls/texts with her or her team all the time - why do all kinds of random ppl insist this isnt the case of 5 federal endorsed electeds she is the most communicative
Mateba@NewSweezyite

I'm repeating myself at this point but the fact that AOC isn't communicating with us *now* and that the DSA isn't launching the campaign is a sign that the idea of any "DSA presidency" in any meaningful sense is dead in the water

@cyclops_psyops @escargotpro_ So your information sources have been bad, and now you're learning the facts? It's not as if this has been some big secret. It's well known that she's in regular communication with NYC DSA.

@mikerecine Most of the plotlines that this guy whines about are actually in Uberto Pasolini's "The Return," from 2024. Ralph Fiennes as Odysseus and Juliette Binoche as Penelope. It is good.

@kiwehhhhh A place like Laramie is good to visit if you plan to spend most of your time seeing the surrounding national scenery, and you stay at a hotel in Laramie. Medicine Bow National Forest is about an hour by car from Laramie, for instance.

I spoke with my great aunt today, who's from Belgium. She told me when she first moved to the U.S. she made a point of visiting Laramie, Wyoming, cause a friend had been and told her it was cool. But when she got there, she was like, what the hell, this sucks

@FugitiveUGrace @DeepNotShallow Both Khan and Salazar are admirable, and I do prefer Salazar. But one thing that stands out, when listening to either of them speak, is how bereft of "charisma" both of them are, in comparison to Ocasio-Cortez. I personally don't care about "charisma," but it is a real thing.

@heyadiana Neera sucks, but I have often wondered why the Scranton accent sounds Midwestern.

@chrisdmowrey Great to read people making judgements before even seeing or hearing anything related. Predetermined judgment without facts is the very definition of bias.

@j70808 Now that you have exhausted half your vocabulary, I won't ask you to explain yourself. It'll be more of the same just in a diff. order. You do know though that when you tell someone to F off, you have already lost the argument.

@atrupar Throughout the month of June, I received this consistent message: women in Maine are scared. They are scared of Platner. And they are scared of Morris Katz.

@BrankoMilan The continued Chinese insistence on policies like local ownership and technology transfer began to chafe on Western investors during the Xi era, and his calls for "shared prosperity" were especially resented in these circles.

@BrankoMilan I think that the turn against China by these publications became noticeable during Xi Jinping's time in power, along with Obama's "Pivot to Asia." As China became more of an economic power in its own right, it was no longer a source of easy and abundant profits for Western firms.

It would be important to seriously study the origin of the anti-China obsession by the @FT and somewhat less so by the @WSJ. What is strange in it is that most of readers of such financial papers are involved in China, directly or indirectly, and make money working, investing, buying in China. Consequently, they do not have interest in reading propagandistic anti-China articles, nor getting inaccurate information.

@BlueDevilQuaker @W_B_Rick The election night where Darwin the poll analyst gets wasabi in his eye from the bodega sushi, and Greg pours water in his eye. Tom: "That's lemon!" Greg: "It's clear! It's LaCroix!"

@W_B_Rick so many timeless bangers. Every time I walk my dog I think about Greg reminding us, "“It’s not like they pre-poop them or something. They’re just bags, really. It’s just a mental barrier.”

@virtheking1 @SteveWoosnam @KobieThatcher I don't go to any Chinatown or event. I love Australia for Australians. If I want to feel Chinese I just go to Castle Hill, Eastwood or Epping....and I avoid those places now for that reason.

Went for a walk around the 'Mango Mela Multicultural' event in Fairfield, Sydney, today. What has happened to this country? Is this really the Australia we want to live in?

@BCTSean @hecubian_devil Referring to basic organizing skills as "McAleveyian" is also a tell. Jane McAlevey herself would be the first to say that she did not devise all this stuff herself, but learned it from others.

McAleveyian organizing tactics are meant to be used in hostile and antagonistic environments where the threat of loss of income or housing is a real concern. Turning those tactics inward is precisely what creates the factionalism we see now. We treat our org as the shop floor and opposing caucuses like corporate bosses, and try to radicalize *fellow comrades* against other comrades. The fact this goes unseen by folks I otherwise consider incredibly intelligent is actually mind boggling. Who could have foreseen utilizing tactics developed for antagonistic organizing would replicate antagonistic relationships? What kind of person would produce a material analysis like this? Some kind of socialist?
