@marvinvonhagen fair play, I'm bullish. It's got a good complexity to functionality ratio.

Use AI to IMPROVE your code base. Ignore anyone that is selling the idea that slop is okay. Lights out is a good north star that we never get to. Learn the tool, don't make productivity your goal, make quality. Productivity will be a side effect of quality.

This was obvious to us over two years ago. With @northflank you can sandbox: (1) production runtime (your services) (2) coding agents (formerly dev containers) (3) agents (3rd-party software / OSS) Everything has to go remote because laptops don’t scale elastically. Unlike game streaming (Stadia, etc.), which failed because local CPUs were already good enough <= 8 threads, the demands of coding agents and parallel execution massively outweigh the local compute of your personal setup. For running 10–25 parallel coding agents effectively, you need bursty compute, which scales linearly with the number of experiments each @linear issue or experiment an engineer wants to run. This will also be async so it would never run locally anyway. If this is the future, pricing has to follow: sandbox compute needs to look like IaaS/PaaS, not the price gouging that's happening right now What I see happening next: (0) continued moving of coding agents to remote (1) 10–100x more ephemeral environments (2) AI-driven preview environments (beyond code review) (3) 100x more deploys with continuous delivery on steroids Infra is way behind and has to catch up. It has to support continuous, parallel, agent-driven execution. AND observability/DR/rollbck is more important than ever. As everyone churns out more slop (which WILL break prod), how does it recover quickly? Every product I use right now seems to be getting worse, so you need to put the guardrails in place.
Ryan Carson@ryancarson

100% of dev is going to be done in sandboxes in the cloud, controlled by kanban boards. Trust me, I love my local machine and gorgeous mac apps, but all of it is just a terrible form factor for running a team of agents effectively.

please @opencode change the default switch theme command so it’s not the same shortcut as tab restoration (command shift +t). It’s the one thing I change every single time.

Just so I understand what is going on, this would be giving the agents access to passwords? Is that not a security concern..? Like every integration thingy becomes an attack vendor, no? Am I overthinking this?
1Password@1Password

Today we’re introducing 1Password® Unified Access. As AI agents start operating inside real production environments, organizations need visibility into how credentials and access are actually used. Unified Access helps security teams discover, secure, and audit access across humans, machines, and AI agents. 🔗 More here: bit.ly/4dq2pjO

@dominikkoch Vercel sandbox, cloudflare sandbox or Daytona all seem reliable. Not sure they're as fast as e2b for init time tho.
