@BeardedBrownMa1 @SBarrettBar I didn't know that. Article from 2010 but let's take it at face value. As a British jew I have many jewish friends and none are orthodox. All very much Brits and paying lots of tax. I think the orthodox are a small fraction.

@SBarrettBar Why aren't British people allowed to set up charities representing British interests?

@BeardedBrownMa1 @SBarrettBar Only 300,000 Jews in Britain. I wonder what their average tax bill is. I wonder how many claim benefits. I wonder how many commit violent crime and take up police time. I wonder how many have private health care and schools to save state money.

@SBarrettBar British taxpayers pay for their Jewish only bus service. British taxpayers pay for their NHS Jewish Health Centre. British taxpayers-who wait 5 hours for an ambulance- are now paying for their 4 brand new ambulances

@SBarrettBar They are "for everyone" to comply with the law. They serve only jews to the extent they can by serving jewish areas and ensuring non jews don't know about them.

@pastry_enthus @SBarrettBar But your analogy makes no sense. These are British people in Britain. Volunteers serving the entire community. A child died choking because ambulance was too slow so the community raised funds.... This is model of integration.. Pitch in, get on with it, don't shout about it.

@SBarrettBar Steven. You strike me as a polite man. Let us imagine a British ex-pat community in say, Australia, which funds its own ambulance service despite a national one already existing. Imagine yourself living there. Would you not feel like you were imposing? I would. Just a thought.

Update... I just used your Transunion credit score checker in your app. I got 645 out of max 710 with "Excellent" rating. Utterly bizarre.

@LloydsBank Just got declined a credit card on eligibility check 🤣. I earn £400k pa, own house no mortgage, zero debt, never CCJ, IVA etc. Been a Lloyd's customer for 35 year since Uni. Your app is a joke. Totally ruined my loyalty to your bank. You left mark on my credit file.

3. A child cut off while everyone else is online isn’t being “protected”, they’re isolated. They miss the jokes, plans, group chats. They’re left imagining what’s being said about them, catching fragments second-hand, feeling excluded by design. Cue the bullying.

2/2 A child who’s offline while their peers are online is excluded from group conversations, left feeling talked about, and vulnerable to bullying by omission. This a collective problem, not an individual parenting choice. A universal ban protects children all children #gbnews

@GBNEWS I’m generally against government bans and favour parental responsibility. But social media is different. When parents ban it unilaterally, they risk causing the very harm they’re trying to prevent. 1/2

Nope. Isn’t that grand… and because of that if someone running it dies that corporation can continue to function…. It’s pretty obviously they don’t want family farms or business ( it applies to family businesss too). They want everything bought up and run by their mates corporations

So multimillionaire farmers escape inheritance tax. And everybody else has to sell their homes to pay for their social care.

@LeilaniDowding @pjsuffolk @David__Osland I agree with your sentiment but your analogy is wrong. The shareholder is charged IHT on the shares in their business That's exactly the point. A CEO is just an employee of thr company

@David__Osland Despite cashflow arguments, why can't you appreciate the bond between the land and those who take care of it. It's a generational calling. Why do you lefties hate history, families, tradition. One incentive to be a farmer is to pass it on thru the generations.

@JosephW56436640 @DanielPriestley He makes a good point. It's a ridiculous proposition. If you woke up a billionaire that implies you did no work or made no effort and zero time to arrive as a billionaire. So to donate half and still have £500m is not the flex you think. Who not give it all away. Keep £5m

The hero who disarmed the attacker at Bondi Beach in Australia is a 43-year-old Muslim named Ahmed al Ahmed. I can just imagine the far-right bigots frothing at the mouth over this.
