Viktor Orbán has been a strong bulwark against the insane open border policies of Brussels and the Western European establishment. But he is wrong here. Israel takes measures to protect everyone during wartime, and though I can agree in spirit, it is up to the Israeli government as to what works best for security purposes.

This is a painful Palm Sunday. The authorities in Jerusalem have prevented the Latin Patriarch from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This is unacceptable for us as Christians, even taking into account the wartime situation and general security measures. We must not allow war to exclude followers of any religion from our shared holy city, Jerusalem.

This Wisconsin man arrested by Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard for posting an edited meme (just a Star of David on the sheriff's forehead) is about to become the ultimate test of the 1st Amendment.
No explicit threats. No calls for violence. Just satirical imagery that Bouchard called "intimidation" after the Temple Israel attack.
If courts let this stand, political memes, parody, and edgy criticism of public officials are dead.
True threats have a high bar (Virginia v. Black). Offense isn't enough. This smells like selective enforcement to "teach a lesson" about "normalization of hate."
Free speech isn't just for speech we like. Watch this case closely...it's bigger than one meme.

Mike Bouchard is one of the best sheriffs in the country.
If there’s one bright spot in this twisted, sickening day, it’s that people across the country will get to see what competence and professionalism from law enforcement look like in the midst of these kinds of terrorist events.
Hopefully the people of Oakland County—and perhaps all of Michigan—will continue to benefit from his public service for years to come.
