@rohitshinde121 @Anoopsri Not to mention that his business model requires people to stay on in villages and they are kind of trapped because who else gives them a job like that?works great for his company but not scalable and out of tune with the aspirations of the young

Few reasons why this is a bad idea: 1. Innovation happens when people are clustered together and agglomerated. Sparse populations means no innovation. 2. Industries thrive when a certain critical density of talent is reached. Without physical agglomeration into cities, industries would patchy and sparse. 3. Providing infrastructure to a sparse population is difficult and expensive. It is actually cheaper to build infrastructure to connect millions of people in Mumbai than to connect people in different villages in Maharashtra. 4. What economic activities are available in villages? Farming is an unproductive endeavor. We have 40% labor force in agriculture that needs to get out of there. 5. Every country that has ever gotten rich - US, UK, Japan, Korea, China - did it by moving people OUT of villages and INTO cities. There is no rich-country example of development through reverse migration. 6. Villages lack the thick labor markets that cities provide. If you lose your job in Bangalore, you find another one next week. Lose your livelihood in a village and you're stuck. Cities give workers optionality which makes them engines of mobility. 7. This framing conveniently shifts the burden from the state to the individual. Instead of asking why Indian cities are so unlivable that people want to leave, it tells people to just go back to the village. It lets terrible urban governance off the hook completely.

15 Pro Max users have not much reason to shift to the current lineup, since it is a camera and chip upgrade. But then often irrational desire is what kicks in for new mobile purchases

International crude prices have gone through the roof in the last 1 month from around 70 dollars/barrel to around 122 dollars/barrel. Consequently, petrol and diesel prices for consumers have gone up all over the world. Prices have increased by around 30%-50% in South East Asian countries, 30% in North American countries, 20% in Europe and 50% in African countries. The Modi Government had two choices- either increase prices drastically for citizens of Bharat as all other nations have done or bear the brunt on its finances so that Indian citizen is insulated from international volatility. Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, in keeping with his Government’s commitment of last 4 years since the conflict in Russia-Ukraine started, decided to take a hit on its own finances again to safeguard the Indian citizen. Government has taken a huge hit on it taxation revenues to ensure very high losses of oil companies (approximately 24 Rs/litre for petrol and 30 Rs/litre for diesel) at this time of sky high international prices are reduced. At the same time, export tax has been levied as international prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed and any refinery exporting to foreign nations will have to pay export tax. My gratitude to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble FM @nsitharaman Ji for this very timely, bold and visionary decision!

- The absolute stupidity. - First, the GOI asks for exorbitant terms from bidders for the airport development and ops rights. - Winner will setup the infra and hope to recoup the cost through air-side and city-side development. - Retailers pay though their nose to lease space and charge accordingly. - But in the end - the same government comes and opens a shop undermining other retail operators who've established their business through a fair process.

Visited the Udaan Yatri café at Mumbai Airport and had chai for just ₹10. Was flying to Delhi and wanted chai before the flight. Spoke to several travellers while I was there. All of them happy, all of them saying the same thing: Easy on the pocket, good service, value for money. Affordable airport food is possible. And this is proof☕ ✈️

I have an Ola scooter and just love the way it rides. I’ve been lucky that it hasn’t given me much problems. But the reason that people have lost their trust in the brand is because the service experience has been awful. Pictures of scooters lying abandoned outside their service centres are everywhere

What a bold incentive for people to move to EVs. $550 for a really cool electric scooter. Wow! Glad to see @bhash addressing the support issues by offering free Ola cab rides if repairs take more than 7 days. This is something that even Tesla doesn't do.
Bhavish Aggarwal@bhash

TLDR: Given the oil shock, launching #EndICEAge: • ₹50,000 OFF — EVs start at just ₹50,000 • Service Trust Guarantee: >7 days repair, free Ola cabs till fixed • Buyback Guarantee: full confidence in our EVs Time to ditch ICE, cut oil imports & build energy independence!

IT companies which can very easily move to WFH wont do it until there is a government diktat. In our case, the customer wants WFO though it is very unpopular with the employees as they waste a lot of time commuting. They're actually more productive when they are working from home.

Because with 0.5x WFH, your 60 day commercial reserve can extend to 90 days or even 100 days easy. It is COVID like because the govt wants to push piped gaslines which are blocked due to vested interests. Never let an emergent situation go waste. Push for reforms.
Atul Kumar | Personal Finance 🇮🇳@atul1602

@sonalbhutra @blitzkreigm But then why we have introduced 50% WFH in Delhi govt offices ? Why PM has said in the parliament that we are in a covid like situation ? Or are we saying that the current crude oil situation won't be solved in next 70-80 days ? Not pointing finger on you. Asking it genuinely

Why is the Indian government cracking down on GLP1 drugs? They should be encouraging it. There are far more harmful drugs easily available at a chemist shop near you.

What's the point of opening the RCB ticket sale when there are literally no seats available for fans to book?? I logged in right at 4 pm and the sale started at 4:01 PM, but this is what I see. This always happens, man and I'm seriously tired of this.

There is definitely major d disruption on the ground. I’m in Hyderabad, office cafeteria is seriously depleted and most of the restaurants in my area have shut shop or have very limited options. Domestic is importantly but commercial impacts a large number of people and also livelihoods.

India’s LPG response shows how quickly systems can adapt under stress. Domestic output scaled to 50–60% of demand (from 40%) 92,000+ tonnes inbound via VLGCs No major signs of supply disruptions on ground Parallel push to PNG migration easing pressure via @businessline

In Bangalore I visited a Darshini and didn’t really notice anything missing, every menu item seemed to be available and the place was crowded as usual. However, in Hyderabad, it’s a different story. Our office cafeteria only has prepared food, mainly variety rice and the quantity was very limited. A restaurant that I frequent for dinner has only fast food like noddles and rice, they used to have 6-7 different veg curries on a daily basis and it’s all stopped. All because of gas impact.

One thing I miss on iPhone is ultra fast charging. Had to head to the airport phone at 10% and I’d forgotten to charge the power bank. After 10 minutes the phone is at 25% only, I bet on some androids it’ll be over 50%. Have to take the charger and cable as a backup now

In Ahmedabad the interior designer workers (Mistri) stay in your home and finish the entire work in 2-3 months. Like they live in the same home. Use one washroom for spitting tobacco and one for washing clothes and bathing etc. In the wash area they took their meals. Over the weekend I saw some brand new homes bathroom dirtier than public toilets. They maybe cleaning its up before handover but my heart wont allow someone to live in a brand new home I bought and then do such. Like the how are the owners ok with such. Or am I overreacting as I dont know if this is norm everywhere for interiors. Like they live and work. I thought they come everyday and work and leave. Use public washroom of the complex. I literally paused all my search for interior designer and all and yesterday saw some factory fitted furniture shops so that they can come fit and leave.
