The World Cup was the biggest thing to happen on @HyperliquidX HIP-4 in its first few months, and it wasn't close. Over the tournament it did $83.2M in volume. That's 48% of everything HIP-4 traded and 95% of the whole Sports category, with the NBA Finals and Champions League barely showing up next to it. The only market on the entire venue that traded more was "BTC daily Up/Down" at $73.5M. What's more interesting is that the two World Cup markets didn't really behave like the same product at all: - Per-match betting ($51.2M) was the steady one. It followed the fixture calendar, opened around June 9, built through the group stage, and peaked at $2.8M on July 7 during the round of 16. - The outright Champion market ($32.0M) was the opposite. It sat quiet at $100–400k a day for most of the tournament, then had one violent $6.6M session on June 27 when an end-of-group result shook up the title odds. That single day was worth roughly a fifth of all Champion volume for the entire event. The knockouts also did more than the group stage, $48.5M against $34.2M, even though there were far fewer matches. Stakes per fixture climbed sharply as the field narrowed, and the July 19 final wrapped things up at $3.3M, more than half of it on the Champion market as the winner was decided. So the two markets are really serving two different kinds of demand. Match markets are recurring engagement that grows with how many games are live, while the Champion market is conviction that piles into a few huge days whenever the story changes. The takeaway for any venue chasing durable fees: the match-style calendar is your steady engine, but the futures-style outright is where the explosive days come from.

Sleeping on HIP-4? Time to wake up Permissionless deployment is huge for prediction markets If you're thinking HIP-4 will play out like HIP-3 it won't @tradexyz has blown the competition out of the water The number of perps with sufficient demand is extremely limited: tokens, equities and commodities Prediction markets have an enormous surface area in comparison Deployers can win specific verticals, geo-specific sportsbooks, politics, esports, culture... the list goes on No single deployer has the ability and distribution to win every niche The simple deployer formula: - lists/resolves markets - builds the frontend - owns distribution - collects fees Anyone can list markets if they can front the hype stake This model scales more than Polymarket and Kalshi because it's actually decentralised If you're building a prediction market you now have a choice: - Build a performant matching engine and data infrastructure - Fight the uphill battle convincing MMs to set up on your exchange - Pay a fat sum for liquidity that will do the bare minimum to comply with your KPIs OR - Rely on battle tested infra that's already supported Trillions in volume - Tap into Hyperliquid MMs ready with liquidity at the drop of a hat Hyperliquid orderbook infrastructure is a league above Polymarket and Kalshi HIP-4 markets have 0.001¢ ticks, the best polymarket offered for world cup matches was 0.25¢ Spreads were multiples tighter, the best price wasn't on @Polymarket or @Kalshi, it was on @HyperliquidX Permissionless deployment will open the design space for prediction markets, there's not been a single meaningful attempt yet Enter HIP-4 If you're building on HIP-4 dms are open @monarch_fast will help you delete the spread

Comparing volume of Hip-4 (a 2 month old product) to Polymarket and Kalshi is short sighted at best In the current state of affairs, sure Hip-4 has issues but each one can be addressed and will The leading UI will be created by teams building ontop of infrastructure being battle tested. @Outcomexyz have a seamless UI When HL ship permissionless deployment, creating and resolving markets becomes a distributed process, Hyperliquid markets and resolutions will scale On liquidity incentives, it's down to the builders to run these. In fact we've done just that with @monarch_fast, the best price for comparable markets exists on Hip-4, not Polymarket or Kalshi We've seen the story play out for Hip-3, Hip-4 is next up x.com/Jaimin_Buildin…

Didn't get much sleep over the last month because of the world cup Was deep in @HyperliquidX orderbook data for our @monarch_fast liquidity campaign with @Outcomexyz We made spreads 100x tighter than Polymarket and our community market makers did 30% of HIP-4 world cup volume Robust tracking and scoring, with rewards of over $3k per day going to participants. The liquidity campaign has delivered And guess what, you can now visualise it: - Every fill - Every placed, modified, cancelled order - Every wallet - Every Hyperliquid block Orderbooks generate insanely rich data, market makers need robust tooling to tune strategies to thrive in the most adversarial environment Richer data = better makers = markets that scale The future of liquidity is competitive (It's coming home) monarch.fast/world-cup

Hyperliquid's HIP-4 is already dead. Their Word Cup champion market made a pitiful 0.69% of Polymarket's volume World Cup Winner (Polymarket) -> $4.26B volume World Cup Winner (Kalshi) -> $1.2B volume World Cup Winner (Hyperliquid) -> $29M volume ... This is not what we expected from the "Polymarket Killer". And this looks even worse when you consider that @polymarket and @kalshi both list thousands of markets while HIP-4 lists only 10 (ten). Yet they can't even scratch 1% marketshare on the few markets that they have This looks extremely bearish for their platform. They may already have missed their critical take off opportunity with the World Cup. They absolutely need to fix these 3 flaws if they want to survive : 1 - Prediction Market UI looks like trash (not retail friendly) 2 - Only validators can propose new markets 3 - No coherent liquidity incentive program if they don't do it quickly it will be @hyperliquidx first failed product since their launch
