@FTusa284 Can you call “too thick, won’t fit” a ‘scoping study’?

Minister likely to give usual non-committal answer, but truth is that there have been scoping studies...
Jean-Baptiste Colbert de Seignelay@FauteuilColbert

Il y aurait donc bien eu étude d’une « second souvereign method of delivering UK nuclear weapons » par M51.4 (👉 : questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questi…) : Q : « examined options for cooperation with France on the M51.4 ». A : « UK will continue to rely on its Trident II D5 ».

@Tobias_Smythe unfortunately you've picked a subject that uses one of our more limited in number 2 letter initialisms

Many people across rural Britain who use heating oil are being hammered with price rises. I've tabled a motion in Parliament that calls for an immediate three-month VAT holiday on heating oil and the introduction of a proper price cap. My interview with the BBC 👇

@TheBurnleyWay @Dale_Harris14 Can Flemming defy physics to get him the ball to where he’s running to? It’s a dire run and he’s rightly getting pelters for it. Just another poor note in a terrible performance by him. Saying that, Flemming should shoot

@Dale_Harris14 Don’t think he is, he’s obviously peeling away to the back post expecting Flemming to try and play it a bit deeper, round the defender?

A lot was made of this yesterday and it’s the first time seeing it back. It’s a shocking pass, nothing Foster can do with that, and he’s the one getting pelters

@waltonyeah @picklesthomas Obviously. Doesn’t make it not true, just because it’s a side effect of our inability to defend because most of our defence and our keeper aren’t good enough for the league we’re in.

Parker? Slagging off supporters? Again? Get him binned. The stadium wasn't edgy. But even if it was... we've been consistently shite for months. Relegated since Xmas due to inept management and out-of-depth tactics... all to a theme tune of drivel and excuses.
TurfCast - Burnley FC Fan Channel@TurfCastPodcast

🗣️ SP at FT: “I thought we started a little bit edgy. Obviously the stadium was quiet and you could feel that, I thought everyone was probably a little bit edgy. “Then I thought Jaidon's first chance was a big chance and we then grew ourselves into the game, so it's just a shame that obviously we didn't take those moments.”

The problem is the lack of foresight and late deployment, not that Dragon goes through the necessary workup routines to test systems and crew after a maintenance period before leaving UK waters.
Nicholas O'Shaughnessy@NicholasOShaug1

I think we ought to turn this into a World War II epic film in black-and-white: The Voyage of the Dragon. It would be a slow motion chronicle of a complex endeavour, complete with equalities impact assessments etc, ending with arrival in Cyprus some weeks after the war is over.

@jamesbird Ha, fair enough. I like them 2 as people but I don't want to hear them on commentary. It's not afforded to any other owner so this shouldn't be any different even if they are Hollywood. Stinks of Sky stratching round for something that works again

The @RoyalNavy Submarine Service and the Royal @Australian_Navy turn 125 this year. 🥳 🎂 The historic visit of HMS ANSON to Australia is the latest phase of the AUKUS partnership, a historic collaboration between the UK, Australia, and the US. As Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Navy Submarine Service, HRH The Prince of Wales, @KensingtonRoyal, has paid tribute to sailors and submariners in the UK and Australia for their skills, service and sacrifice.

@jamesbird @cognitio68 @FraserNelson @BeaverWestminst Not true. There are if articulated properly - simply, powerfully and concisely, avoiding military and corporate jargon. The politicians are not interested in doing it, except in a nebulous way. I give you 'war footing and 'pre-war'.

Britain’s bases in Cyprus felt like the safest place on earth when I was growing up there. Not any more. Cyprus’s plea for help - answered by France with no UK ships around - is a landmark in British military decline. My column:- times-comment.com/cyp5

@fightingsailor @FennellJW Hasn't worked that way with the Astutes. Each one takes progressively longer to build than the previous one. Taken 12 years to build Agamemnon. Took 12 years to build the entire Trafalgar-class. Modular construction was supposed to speed things up !

The real question is are we preparing a task force for the straits of Hormuz. PoW CSG could do that but we need allies and to ensure the North Atlantic is covered.
