opencode 1.3.0 will no longer autoload the claude max plugin we did our best to convince anthropic to support developer choice but they sent lawyers it's your right to access services however you wish but it is also their right to block whoever they want we can't maintain an official plugin so it's been removed from github and marked deprecated on npm appreciate our partners at openai, github and gitlab who are going the other direction and supporting developer freedom

Oh yes I was following them closely. It’s a fancy cloud/DAM marketed as a file manager. They’re not really focusing on replacing the file manager OS level, more appealing to the Frame.io market. Still a massive technical undertaking but they have the engineering power and much more funding.

i can’t be the only one worried with the direction @spacedriveapp is going, right? i started following this project years ago after i heard about how revolutionary of a file manager it was going to be, but for them to seemingly throw that out for some openclaw-esque bs… man…

I detail this extensively in this article, but to put it simply, a cross platform file manager is simply too difficult to build with such a high bar of expectation across 5 separate platforms I’ve invested YEARS of my life trying to get it right, so instead I’m focusing on products that I can actually ship today. A simplified data ownership and archival platform, Spacedrive v3 + Spacebot, which is actually making real money. The first product I have ever created that is actually making money. I encourage you to explore the surface area of features in v2.spacedrive.com and tell me if you think it’s possible to even ship a working alpha when you have absolutely no income. On its own, not an AI tool. The focus is data ownership and archival, having a local copy of emails or searchable archives of social media data as example, endless possibilities with adapters. We’re dropping the focus on being a cross platform file manager because the surface area of features required is simply unsustainable, and prone to bad user experience being third party from the OS. The VDFS stays, filesystem indexing, peer to peer and processing pipeline for derivative data. Interface just became simpler and more modular. @bierlingm @spacedriveapp thank you! it used to be a file manager, i left previous articles about it from v1/v2 on the blog so you can see how it evolved. spacebot just helped me realize it could be the missing piece for AI

@stolinski @spacedriveapp yep, it will be by the weekend (march 15) I just couldn’t hold it on the landing page so I greyed out the buttons and added the banner
